I'm assuming I'm around 6 weeks also...

I have all the symptoms that you're describing except for the thirsty part.

What exactly is GD? (probably a stupid question)

Gestationional diabetes....... i had it last time around 15 weeks or so and they never caught it until week 29 or so, the nurse had read me the wrong chart which is a whole other storyChat Icon Chat Icon but def feel the same way again. if this is your first and you did not have gd i would think it is more of the feeling of being preggers! Congrats to you!

Does GD show up that early? I went to my regular doctor at one point because of a faining spell and he would not even test for for GD because it was too soon. I'm going to guess I was like 13 weeks or so. But maybe since you had it last time it might show up sooner?

I'd definintely talk to my doctor if I were you.

I'm sorry you're feeling so crummy.

that seems really weird to me... i had it with DD#1 and have it again with DD#2. i asked to be tested super early and my dr. looked at me like i had 5 heads. she stated that the placenta needs to be a certain size before the probability of GD kicking in resurfaces. she told me i could go ahead and see my endo if i wanted to, but she viewed it as pointless.

i followed her advice and was tested somewhere between 23-25 weeks this time around, i can't remember. when they took my A1C, sure enough it was within non-diabetic range. but i did fail the tests and was back to monitoring everything.

now if you have diabetes going into the pregnancy, that's a whole different story...but i guess that's what they mean when you were borderline after DD#1...

yes I thought it was way to early to have gd this stage in the game, but that is what they said, so i am going to keep track in a diary i gues of what i am eating and my numbers until i go to my 1st visit. i really hope it is not the case i just don't want to go through it again....... Thanks!!

Re: so i am 6 weeks or so and think I have GD again

Hey Nicole, as you know I had GD when I was pregnant with Haley. I swore I had it this time around too. I would get the dizzy, fainting hot spells and even when I tested my number would sometimes come back high. When I went to the doctor for my 1 hour I asked him if I failed if I could just skip the 3 hour and he said all pregnancies are different and that I would have to take the 3 hour. To make a long story short I passed the 3 hour. Hopefully you are just experiencing some early preggo symptoms. Chat Icon
