How did you tell dh you were pregnant?

I found out last week and dh is a cop so i was dying for his shift to finish so we could go out. So i picked him up and we went to our favorite little french restaurant in brooklyn wear we used to always go on dates. So this is our special place. It also happened to be our 6th month wedding anniversary.
So I ran in the restaurant before dh "to use the bathroom" while he looked for parking. I gave the waiter a beautifully wrapped gift box. He brought it over to dh with his appetizer. He was so happy to even get a gift. He read the annoversary card and was touched, then he opened the box and found a little bib that says, "i love daddy." I even enclosed the pregnancy test. He was so happy he has tears in his eyes and the whole restaurant applauded. They even brought us champagne! iT WAS THE PERFECT NIGHT. Dh really appreciated me surprising him.

DH is a cop too - On easter sunday morning I had a dream I was pregnant that woke me up....I got a test and it was positive! We weren't even trying so it was a shock!

I went to cvs and I got an easter basket bag and put in some bibs that said I love Daddy...put the test in the bag, and drove to meet DH for lunch with his partner.

I gave the bag to him and he thought it was going to be filled with easter candy!

I tested while Dave was at work and left a Steelers Onesie (that we already had) on the bed in the bedroom with the test. He always kisses me hello and then goes into the bedroom to change...

In talking, after the reveal - i told him i had two digitals and would take one in the morning...he suggested i take one then...so I did - and that's the one he's holding in the pic...

I wish I had such a cute storie. I am so jealous of you girls. My pregnancy was such a surprise, that I just kinda took the test, without expecting anything. When he came home, I couldn't say anything. Finally, I was like, "Ummmmmm. I have to show you something." I showed him my 2 positive tests. He was happy though.

Of course, neither of us believed it till we saw the little bean on the ultrasound this week.

I waited for DH to come home and I took the test with him in the bathroom with me...soooo, we both got to see it at the same time- that excitement was so special!

I was 16 days late and after 5 BFN's for a week and a neg blood test I was not real convinced we were pg. So last Saturday I was on here and thought hmmmmm Joe is sleeping so if I run to Walgreens real fast and get more HPT and they are neg he'll never know and he won't yell about all the money(he never yelled I was being dramatic) so I peed and thought nothing of it...well about 5min later I remebered I POAS and saw a +.....I started screaming and woke Joe up...He saw it and I started bawling my eyes out. I POAS again and again +...so we went to Walgreens and bought digitals. I POAS again.... and Joe started screaming...I looked down and it said PREGNANT! We just cried and laughed and then called both of our families...It really was great and a suprise since we had all the BFN's and the neg blood work

I got my BFP around fathers days. So i wrote out a card from me and the dog and mailed it to myself. i didnt put a return address so he was confused. He opened the card and it said he was gonna be a daddy and that he has already given me the greatest valentines day gift.

We had been trying for a loooong time and had a failed round of IVF prior to my positive.

Anyway, I told DH that I was going to wait for my beta so I wouldt be dissapointed. I wound up (of course) testing 7 days after my transfer and got the SLIGHTEST line ever. That was a friday---on Sunday I decided I wanted to surprise him and if I waited till the blood test to tell him he would be expecting a call etc.

I took a digital and took a picture of it with my cell phone. I ran to target and got a card and bought him the new grand theft auto game for ps3. When I got home he was downstairs watching TV so I sent him the picture via Text and wrote "Guess what???"

He came running up the stairs ad gave me the biggest hug and kept asking if I was serious. Then I handed him the gift bag and said, "Here you have 9 months to beat this"

I also went through IVF to get pregnant, so there was nothing creative here. We knew when my beta blood test was, and I didn't test before. We both took the day off to wait for the results. When the nurse called with my results, DH was right with me.

We were extremely lucky. We had just gotten aggressive with TTC--we found out that we were going to need some "extra help" in order to get pregnant. I had just done my first cycle of Clomid with the trigger shot.

Well, I REALLY wasn't expecting a BFP because, according to the "BD schedule" the RE had given me, we totally missed the mark. I wasn't prepared for the toll that having to "perform on demand" would have on DH. Things didn't work out so well. It was only once we "knew" we were too late that we were able to relax enough to just let things happen.

I had some strange symptoms, so I decided to test at 10dpo. I got a BFN. Something told me to test again a few days later, so I tested at 13dpo and got my BFP.

It was about 6:15 in the morning...I had to work that day. I took the test and nearly swallowed my toothbrush when I saw that word: Pregnant. I wish I had left time to think of something creative, but I was just in so much shock and I KNEW I wouldn't be able to keep a secret that big with DH sleeping right in the next room.

So I went into the bedroom, gave him a kiss and when he woke up, I said "So...how would you feel about being a Daddy?". He bolted straight up and said "WHAT??!!!". I showed him the test and started crying.

He didn't have to be up for another 2 1/2 hours for work, but he was wide awake after that.

You really lucked out...a friend of mine wrapped up her test to give to her DH when he got home from work, but she didn't realize that the test only says "Pregnant" for an hour. So he opened it up and saw a blank test and was a little confused...

You really lucked out...a friend of mine wrapped up her test to give to her DH when he got home from work, but she didn't realize that the test only says "Pregnant" for an hour. So he opened it up and saw a blank test and was a little confused...

maybe she had a defective one? My digital showed "pregnant" for 24 hours.

well dh was the one tht told me to test again. i had gotten a bfn a week prior. i was convinced i wasnt pregnant...
well he told me to take another test and i did. he was in the living room when i let out a big " omg!!!"
he came running over...
we were in total shock!!

Ummm I yelled from the bathroom.. Holy S h i t.. get in here... I see two lines... I wish had a cute story!

I tested early in the morning and was so stunned to see "pregnant" on the stick...I just decided to tell him after work.

I made sure he was sitting (!!) and gave him a bag with a Christmas ornament that had a stork carrying a baby and "Surprise! Baby's First Christmas 2009" inscribed on it, and an I Love Daddy bib. It took him a minute...and he turned white! He was in such shock...we'd only been trying for 3 months, and since my cycles were long, I prepared him for a long haul.

I have pictures of him holding the ornament and bib...he looks happy and petrified at the same time!

My DH was at work and AF was late. We werent trying so I was concerned when Af didnt arrive early like she normally does. I decided to go to CVS, get a test and test at home by myself. I was shocked when it was +.
DH and I were supposed to meet at the gym so I called him and asked him to come home first and we would just drive together. In the meantime, I ran to the GAP outlet and bought an I Love Daddy onsie. I wrapped that up and the test and gave it to him when he got home. He was shocked and didnt know what to say. But...we are both very excited!
