Dow falls below 9000 *update* it's at 8500 now!

If the Dow ever drops below 8500 or 8000, that may tempt me to throw some money into a few solid mutual funds.
And I hate dabbling in the stock market. But these deals are too juicy to not at least look into.

I am thinking the same thing.
to the OP's question, it will end when the poison is finally released from our economic bloodstream.
we are way beyond penicillin right now. anything more the govt does will be just as futile.

Hate to say this, but its almost there. The Dow closed at 8,602.52 if it keeps going down tomorrow it may well be under 8,500

I would love to buy into the market but I'm just not sure what to buy, plus I et scared that it will jsut keep falling.
But its tempting, everything is basically on sale now

They just said on ABC News the declines came on the one-year anniversary of the closing highs of the Dow and the S&P. The Dow closed at 14,198 on Oct. 9, 2007. Then today Oct. 9, 2008 it closed at 8579.19. The stock market has lost 40% of it value in the last year.
That is very scary. Soemthing better be done soon.
