XM radio offer *updated with the response I got*
I bought my car 4 months ago and had a free 3 month trial - and I let it expire.
I just got an offer from XM for $4.99 a month for 3 months. so I am def calling to sign up for this offer, but... I'm curious if anyone on here (or someone you know) has been able to negotiate this rate beyond the 3 months?

Re: XM radio offer
Wow that's great, I would love to hear the answer to this. I to have a free 3-month trial with my new car, I believe it will expire next month.

so I just called and renewed with this promo rate.
the guy I spoke to at XM said that it's only for the 3 month period, but told me that if I let it expire again, I would get the same offer

go for it, or at least threaten to cancel and see if they give you a better deal (kinda like what cablevision does)

they will charge you a re-activation fee for letting it expire, that they stand very firm on not waiving, I think its $30 or something. They always fail to mention that applies till you get you cc bill or the xm bill and see it on there

I just called them back and they told me my CC was billed for $14.97 and no activation fee

they told us the same thing, till I actually checked my cc statment ( 2 months late) the charge didn't come thorugh the same day so i never even looked again, till I was looking for something else and saw it, I called and they refused to refund it.
Hopefully they won't charge you though.

I'll be on the lookout for the bill. thanks.
PS: I also read the offer w/a fine tooth comb and there is no mention of an activation fee.

Cool, hopefully they don't. we got out of our other activation fee by swaping a radio out (one broke) and since we replaced it, they waived the fee.
