Monthly Expenses
Just curious, how much does everyone spend on your child each month? Please include your childs age and breakdown the expenses - and include everything (food, daycare, diapers, clothes, etc). Just trying to get an idea for the future!
Landon - 4 months In September I spent approx: $100 - formula $40 diapers/wipes $50 - misc stuff at BRU - toys, bottle nipples, bottle brushes, spoons, etc $6 - cereal $25 - dr. copay $10 - prof. photos at Target $100 - on clothes - but he just went up a size, these clothes should last all fall and most of winter. This will not be there next month!

Re: Monthly Expenses
Ryan - 6.5 months
Using Ang's also:
Food EBF but $$ on BF supplies (storage bags) - $30 Jarred Food/Cereal - $100
Personal Care Diapers - $50 Wipes - $15 Ointment - $5
Medical Co-pay/vitamins/tylenol/teething meds - $50
Entertainment Playdates, toys, outings - $50
Clothing If change of season: $300 If not: $150 Misc (hats/socks) - $20
Daycare $1200 per month
Miscellaneous $100 for extras like gear
Overall I'd say most months it's about $1800-$1900 - but a huge portion of that is for daycare

Re: Monthly Expenses
I don't have daycare expenses so our monthly expenses are for gym class, going out for lunch , diapers, wipes, food, and clothes (yes, I buy atleast a couple of things every month.) If I had to put a number to it, I would think it's all around $400-450. Every other month it's a little less because I buy diapers and wipes in Coscto and they usually last 2 months.

Re: Monthly Expenses
OH this is so much more fun than the project at work...good post!
Lucas - 16 months
Food Milk - $24 Juice - $10 Grocery - $50 (special purchases for him - otherwise he eats what we eat or what is served at daycare)
Personal Care Diapers - $60 Wipes - $15 Ointment - $20 Bath - $10
Medical Deductible - $40
Entertainment Playdates, toys, outings - $60
Clothing If change of season: $200 If not: $100 Shoes - $40 Misc (hats/socks) - $20 Daycare $1450 per month $60 for parking (for train over by center - that's on his tally )
Miscellaneous $50 for good measure - like the balloon at the grocery store that he whines for and I am sucker and buy for him...those things.
Overall I'd say most months it's about $2,000 (maybe less) - but a huge portion of that is for daycare
Editted to give credit back to Lucas' tally

Re: Monthly Expenses
20 months (sept)
60.00 for diapers and wipes 120.00 for his food(gluten free..lots of fruits and veggies, his snacks cost me a lot) 100.00 for pjs, pair of stride rites, pair of crocs..3 t shirts, gymobree cowboy boots 10.00 for 2 trips to Monkey Joes 25.00 for playdough, paints, books, invisible marker thing
I will only get myself sick if I go into his asthma expense for the month of Sept. It was our worse month yet.

Re: Monthly Expenses
Hmmm...do I even want to figure this out?
DS is 18 months:
Diapers,Wipes,A&D, Bath stuff etc: $50 (less some months, depending on what I need)
Food: $50-75 (his milk, snacks and he eats a TON of fruit and veggies)
Clothes: usually about $50 but had to spend more this month - spent about $200 but got 2 pairs of shoes, fall clothes and an outfit for a wedding
Medical: I have no copays but have to pay 10%. This visit it was about $12. But this month I also had a $98 bill for Quest and
Extra Stuff: Probably between $40-50 on random stuff -- like we went to Elmo Live this month, or balloons in the food store (I am a sucker too!)

Re: Monthly Expenses
Last month I spent: $300 on after care services $50 on babysitting $100 (give or take)on some school supplies I missed in August $80 on birthday party gifts (2 birthday parties for friends/classmates) $25 on new knee pads and elbow pads, $100 or so in new books, games, puzzles, etc.. $200 (more or less) on supplemental wardrobe items (jackets, sneakers, socks, boxer briefs, etc.)
Total .. about $855. Which is pretty typical. The needs vary month over month - but this is fairly typical. This month will be more because of Christmas shopping. It's a lot - but I count my blessings because they are healthy and happy and I am saving money now that Noah is in Kindergarten! No more $900/month on his childcare!
ETA: Robbie is 7 and Noah is 5.

Re: Monthly Expenses
Christopher - 9 months
Food Formula - $150 Liners - $10 Grocery (food, cereal, fruits/veggies) - $30 - getting to be less now that he doesnt want baby food.
Personal Care Diapers - $50 Wipes - less than $10 Misc - $5
Medical Deductible - $0 for well visits and we havent had a sick visit yet
Entertainment Playdates, toys, outings - $40 (we dont buy him too much as he already has more than he can play with)
Clothing - $100 (we are lucky here in that we have SOO many hand me downs, my MIL is a shopaholic, and we just now ran out of clothing he had gotten as gifts...So I just have to supplement)
Misc - $25
So we are only at just over $400 a month on average.

I think Ang has to buy extra to keep at daycare...so basically double of everything.

Re: Monthly Expenses
Last month I spent about $580 on diapers, wipes, clothes, other baby stuff, dr co-pays. This does not include food though....for food being I buy him alot of organic foods and go to Trader Joe's I would add on another $75-100.

Re: Monthly Expenses
I'm gonna use Ang's list to base off of cause we're close to that.
DS - 18 months
Food Milk - $26 Grocery - $50 (special purchases for him - otherwise he eats what we eat or what is served at daycare)
Personal Care Diapers - $60 Wipes - $15 Ointment - $6
Medical CoPays - $40 (we were there 4 times in Sept for ear infections and a rash)
Entertainment Playdates, toys, outings - $60
Clothing Clothes - $200 (clothes to make it through the winter) Shoes - $50 Misc (hats/socks) - $30 Daycare $1365 per month
Miscellaneous $50 for good measure (if this was a snapshot at Oct, $30 of this would have gone to his 18 months/Halloween prof pics.)
Overall I'd say most months it's about $2,000 (maybe less) - but a huge portion of that is for daycare

Well truthfully the expense is not all Lucas' so maybe $15 - we get 2 boxes of wipes at BJs each month but 1/2 goes to our own use (I swear it takes out any stain from clothing- love baby wipes)
And like Crissy said..with daycare we double up one for daycare one for home.

Re: Monthly Expenses
Kaydyn -- 8 Months
Food Formula - $80 Baby Food -- $60
Personal Care Diapers - $40 Wipes - less than $10 Cream - $5
Medical $145 -- we have child health plus so this is what we pay monthly for her insurance. There are no copays on anything.
Entertainment Playdates, toys, outings - $40
Clothing - $40 (I don't really buy her a ton of stuff. My MIL buys her outfits every two weeks or so. I just bought winter clothes for about $150 but this should last her for the next couple of months. Usually it's just socks and onesies and stuff)
So a little over $400 with her health insurance.

Re: Monthly Expenses
I have no idea I just buy what I need when I need it.
I buy diapers & wipes when they're on sale (rarely pay full price for them), and food when on sale as well as much as I can. Milk is $ because we use Stonyfield Organic, which isn't cheap.

Re: Monthly Expenses
I am scared to add it all up. I do however stock up on diapers when they are on sale. Also for wipes I use the Target brand which are cheap. I also just realized Trader Joes has gallon size organic milk for $5.99. Both DH and I drink a lot of milk along w/ DS now.
