I really feel for this mother because I can understand how easy it is to go on autopilot and I DON'T have kids. But what I don't get is how over the course of the day, when talking to people ABOUT her kids, that never jolted her. I've had people mention something in conversation and it would be like an alarm for me to take action and do something and I would thank them for the reminder even though they were just making converation. With this...she talked several times thoughout the day about her kids and not once did she get jolted with "Oh crap, the kid's in the car!"
