So friggin mad!!!!!!!!
I just got a call from my ob about one of my tests. I was going back and forth to this other office for my nuchlar screening and my level II. During the time I was going for the nuchlar screening, I never realized or was told that a second blood test had to be done. So the first blood test is inconclusive to whether or not Shaylie has Down's. My doctor was very reassuring that she doesn't have it based on my other tests and sonograms. We've discussed about having an amnio before, but when she told me the risks of it, I opted not to have it. I'm not going to jeopardize having a miscarriage. Again today she asked if I wanted to reconsider and I said no and she totally supported my decision. She said that the big test will be the fetal ecko cardio gram because Down's babies tend to have heart defects. If everything is good with that, then we're home clear. What made me felt better was how confident she was that Shaylie doesn't have it. No matter what, Shaylie is going to loved and cared for by me, DH and our family and friends. I'm just so upset that I was never told about the second blood test. That just burns my azz.

I'm sure everything will be okay too. See, they had a hard time doing the sono on her because she never wanted to be in the correct position. I actually had to go back 3 times for the sono because she didn't want to cooperate. They didn't do a bloodtest until I was there for the second or third try with the sono. All the sonos for the screenings were done at a different office.

My opinion on it is its THEIR FAULT it wasnt done, NOT YOURS.. They are responsible to let us know what to get done.. they do this for a living.

Re: So friggin mad!!!!!!!!
The only way that I know what tests to schedule and when is by going on this pregnancy board.
My doctor's office is not very proactive about anything. I have to ask for everything. I could very well have walked out of my obgyn office without getting the blood test during my ultrascreen. I had to remind another nurse that I was waiting for the blood test portion of it.
Did you have your 16 week AFP test?
