STAR question - those who just moved
We got a letter from the Town letting us know that we are covered under the old owners until the next deadline - March 2, 2009. They suggested we mail in our new application now - but they want a copy of our driver's license and proof of residency. When I called DMV to change my address, they said just handwrite the new address on the back - they don't send out new documents.
Is that going to be okay for the town? I'm also going to attach a utility bill to show residency.
Thanks!!

if you really want to be sure, i would do this in person if you have time. I just brought a utlity bill to town hall. And you have plenty of time to get a new licesnse so you are really in no rush.

Re: STAR question - those who just moved
they told me to do the same thing...put it on the back of my license so I went the nearest DMV to change my registration and they printed out a new one right there at no charge. I sent a copy of that and a copy of the deed along with the STAR application.

Re: STAR question - those who just moved
I downloaded a form from DMV and mailed it to them and received my new license in weeks. You have enough time so why not just get the updated license to make sure you cannot be denied.
