anyone who has had their showers in Dec or Early January?

Or think that they may be having it either of these two months, please answer?

This is holiday and post holiday time. A part of me is feeling bad because of the financial strain that will be put on my family to throw this event on top of buying xmas presents. This is typically a financially challenging time for people.

No one has a big enough place to hold the shower so it will most likely have to be at a restaurant/ rented room etc.

Did any of you feel bad about this? How did it work out for you?

ETA: A part of me feels like DH and I should offer money to my family.

I am actually going to have mine in Jan, but my DH is throwing it, (only because my mom past on and there is no one else who would) We are kinda stuck because no ones house is big enough to have it, so we are going to shop around at alot of different restaurants

My mom plans on having my shower the beginning of January. I am due 2/22 and she didn't want to have the shower in December because of the holidays and she wanted to give me enough time before the baby to get everything set up.

As I'm due in Feb I will be in the same boat, what I will say is that if you have the option (and it's going to be at a restaurant/hally type place) do it in January. Having worked in the restaurant/catering industry, Jan is a very slow month for them and their prices will be much cheaper per head and they will be more willing to work with you and get more party business in the door after "party season" ends.

I'd do it in January if I were you. I got married in February (05) and we had my bridal shower in November to avoid the holiday rush.

I'm due in November and having my shower the first week in October so I don't think you'll be cutting it too close.

It makes a lot of sense to do January, as now that I think of it weddings are even cheaper in the winter months.

I had my bridal shower last year in December (wedding was in January) and we had a great turnout (90%) and people were still very generous.

Since most of my friends are all across the country but always come home for the holidays, we are having my baby shower on Dec 14th this year. I am hoping we have a good turn out Chat Icon
