Weather issue
Why is it that the president or anyone with higher authority bring up the issues we are having with the weather? I feel like it's being ignored and this is really a serious issue. This has got to be the warmest winter on record! Yet, I hardly hear about it on the news.

Re: Weather issue
Then they would have to answer to our response to global warming, and the disappearance of our rainforsts......and well all kinds of stuff rich developers and oil drillers don't want to address. And to take any action - well let's just say, Cheney's friends would be p i s s e d !!

Re: Weather issue
And cause Panic...which will happen...they would never do it.
Unfortunatly the average American is not intelligent enough to understand some of the global warming and other weather related theories and concepts and so it cannot be told in a way that will make all that much sense. Most weather patterns are very complex in nature and difficult to understand the true impact.
Not to mention, who would care? We live in a society thats more interested in Angelina Jolie being Pregnant then how the weather affects us on more then a day to day basis.

Re: Weather issue
There was a big summit - but you could hardly say this administration is environment friendly.

You must be kidding.
The government plays a HUGE factor in what is happening to our weather patterns based on their decisions...
"Mother Nature" is affected by us the people and the government gets to make the decisions, not the average citizen about what natural resource is used or abused etc....

Re: Weather issue
DH told me if the weather patterns we've been having contuinues we will have no more severe cold weather in the US at all-I can't even imagine what the weather would be like in Arizona, New mexico and Nevada-we are probably the lucky ones as we live in a temperate climate. But if that did happen I don't know what would happen to the polar ice caps. I would thing they would melt a lot and raise the water level all over the world

Re: Weather issue
I agree we would have no more winters it would be more like fall spring summer if we didn't have anymore cold weather's. I think this winter had been the most Mild winter we have had yet for dec/jan.

?? are you kidding? There are many things the government can do about the weather. For one they should focus on protecting the environment. Also like someone mentioned use natural resources.

I think that before the government gives this the attention it needs "we" as voters need to bring it up to our legislators & local office holders. If "we" don't let them know that we care then it will be ignored. It needs to start locally beofre it goes national or global.
