I'm looking for a reliable contractor specializing in basements in Nassau County. I have a finished basement but I'd like to redo parts of it. I'd like to turn it into a multipurpose home theater room/pool room.

1. Repaint the basement.

2. The ceiling is done very oddly (there are dips and stuff in the ceiling to accommodate pipes and ventilation ducts but it looks all uneven and I think it could be redone in a more aesthetically pleasing way).

3. Move a wall back a few feet (I don't think it's a load bearing one).

4. Run some home theater/cat 5 wiring.

5. Add in a new circuit and a few outlets

6. Add in some ventilation ducts (my basement gets hot for some reason and could use some vents from the central air).

7. Possibly add in a bathroom.

Any thoughts? The bathroom part isn't essential since I know of a good plumbing contractor who does bathrooms. Would it be better to do split the job up and find the people myself? (i.e. get the electrician first then the painter, then the hvac people?).
