Just got back from a consult with the pediatrician
DH and I met with Mid-Suffolk Pediatrics in Mt. Sinai. We have decided to use them!!  The office was set up so well with a sick area, a well area, and an infant area. The exam rooms are painted with bright colors and they are themed. They are open 365 days per year and they have a pharmacy in their Islandia office so they can deal with emergencies if necessary. My girlfriend uses them for her daughter and has had great experiences with them, so I felt comfortable going with a dr. that was referred to us as well.

I went there last week! Isn't the office aweosme. I was a little bummed I didn't get to meet with any doctors and they are not too flexible with vaccines but I am 99% sure I am using them too!

I asked about their flexibility with vaccines and the nurse said they are fairly flexible. The dr's feel that the vaccines should be given, but they are flexible with them being spread out. And, all of their vaccines are mercury free. I wonder why you were told that they were not flexible. She told me something totally different and said to have a longer discussion with the dr. about it when I come in for my appointment after birth.

I use Mid suffolk, the pachougue/islandia office and they are great! I usually see Tracey Manners or Dr Selden. I didnt do much with vaccines but they had NO problem with me delaying DS's MMR vaccine until he is 2. That was the only one I inquired about. the only thing that she said they couldnt do is unbundle the vaccine. They are wodnerful!

Awesome!!! I am happy to hear that you were impressed. We have a consult with them (also at the Mt. Sinai office) on Thursday. I heard really good things about them so I was keeping my fingers crossed the office was nice and all of that. So excited for my consult............guess I'll be seeing you at the pediatrician too once the babies are here!!

The girl told me they were flexible too....but when I spoke to Dr. H in length on the phone after my appt. I realized they aren't all that flexible. They will delay polio for a little bit and the MMR to age 2 and I suppose they won't insist on the flu shot but he was clearly strong minded about why they are so important and why they are so important right away. Just very reluctant to delay

I went for a consult with a Ped in Mt. Sinai, Roberta Nataloni after several recommendations. She is a solo practioner which I like and I loved her office. If anyone wants to check her out.
I am VERY PICKY!

I've been using Mid-Suffolk Pediatriac for years and LOVE them.
My two month old just received his shots on Thursday and our Dr. (who I trust completely) spoke at length about the controversies surrounding them...without debating this issue her professional opinion is that the shots have nothing to do with spectrum disorders, the criteria for diagnosis has just gotten much more specific...but she said many parents in the practice were delaying shots which concerned her as she remembers some of these diseases and their reprecussions. The more people that do not vaccinate, the the more likely these diseases could reappear. Just passing on my expereince with vaccinations at Mid Suffolk.
Anyway, Mid-Suffolk is wonderful!!
You will be very happy with them

I use Mid-Suffolk's Islandia office and I love them. We've seen Dr Reinitz a couple of times and we've seen Kniffen (he's a nurse practitioner) for most of our appts and both were great.

Just wanted to add, we use Mid-Suffolk in Hauppauge for our DD and they are very flexible with delaying vaccines and breaking them up, as long as the child receives them, as a matter of fact I didn't want my DD to get the rotovirus vaccine because she isn't around other children and they had no issue with not giving it to her.
