Depends on his mood. Sometimes he loves it, sometimes he hates it.
One time when DH was watching him, he put him in and then went outside to get the car ready, by the time he came back inside DS was sleeping. He slept for 2 hours in the car seat on the floor with the dogs laying by him.

I have to distract Lily most of the time.
I have a few tricks I use....
1. dangle the car keys from my mouth (not pretty, but it works). She loves keys and they distract her enough that she doesn't realize what's happening.
2. Give her a toy to play with while I'm strapping her in (can be tricky though if she's holding onto it and I need her arms for the straps).
3. Singing. She loves the alphabet song, so I sing that to her and she instantly looks up at me and starts smiling.

My DD was fine in the car seat until about 2 weeks ago...now when you put her in it she fights you.... she is almost 6 months
