So I had my 8 wk appt yesterday and I have a question
All went well, baby is still there and the heart is still beating strong, so we totally breathed a sigh of relief. I haven't had any morning sickness yet (or any kind yet really) so my dr. said I'm probably in the clear...though as I type this I'm feeling really crappy.
At my 6 wk appt they did all my bloodwork and the only thing that popped up is that I'm anemic. But, she said it's not at a level to be worried about yet, and she'd hate to have to give me an iron supplement this early because the iron in the prenatals already is giving me bathroom issues. She said she'll test my levels again later on in the pregnancy and go from there. Oh, also I have a UTI which they detected from my urine sample so I'm on antibiotics for that. But I'm just happy the HB looks strong.
Anyway, my question is, because of course I always come up with the questions AFTER I leave and don't want to be a pain and call back, but my due date keeps changing, it keeps getting pushed back by a couple of days. Is this ok? Does that mean the baby isn't growing properly? Or being this early is this nothing to worry about?

It's sometimes hard to initially determine a due date, unless you are 100% positive when you ovulated; therefore, I think doctors go by the sono. I would not worry, you saw the heartbeat, which is a huge accomplishment.

I wouldn't worry about it. My original due date was based on my LMP. At my first sono, was measuring a week behind (I thought I ovulated 1 week late so that made sense). The doctor pushed my due date back one week. At my next two sonos, has been measuring 1 week ahead. The doctor didn't change the due date. My doctor will only change it if the baby is measuring at least 10 days ahead. The first sono where you see the heartbeat is apparently more accurate than later sonos in terms of estimating the due date.

Yeah, she did say she's not officially going to change the due date, it will still say the same, even though this sono was telling her a couple of days after.
Also, I don't know when I ovulated because it was my first cycle of the pill, so although my LMP was May 6th, they're not using that because at my first sono just before 6 weeks, was measuring a week behind what that EDD would be, so they figured I ovulated a week or so late. I guess that's why it's still all screwy. I just got worried that maybe the baby was not growing properly.

I got pregnant my first cycle off the pill too. Before the pill, I had irregular periods. The only reason why I think I ovulated about 1 week late was b/c around CD 20, I had pulled muscle-type pains on my left side for several days, which seemed like ovulation pains.
At your next ultrasound, the baby may even catch up. I was a little worried too. I'm sure everything is fine.
