I CAN leave the house with my newborn!
Today was the first time Zach and I left out into the world on our own without the comfort and company of Grandma or Daddy. He did great. I did have to stop into a Kohls to feed him in a dressing room and change him but overall it was a great little outing.
Gosh, what a silly little sense of accomplishment I got from those 4 hours out of the house. That really is key to toughing out these baby blues- get OUT of the house.

I remember the joy I felt just making it to the post office to buy stamps one day.
It gets easier and the struggles of the early days will be a distant memory!

Great job mommy!! You have to get out and go now that the weather is nice and trust in your abilities as a mom! It will get easier and easier for you from her Laura!!!

I still haven't been out for more than in-between-feedings outings!!
And you're right, nothing beats getting out of the house for baby blues!

I took DS to my midwife appointment and then to Staples and Old Navy yesterday - it was GREAT to get out of the house.

I've only been able to go to the allergist - an hour round trip. I am terrified to take her anywhere else alone yet.

Continue to go out!! It will become so easy for you..
Here is a little tip to make getting ready to go out a little easier...
At night restock the diaper bag and put it in your car. So all you have to do is put DC in the car seat and out the door you go!!
Before you know it, you will be out all the time and feeling like yourself again!

Good for you! I must be a chicken then because while I leave the house with DD almost everyday to a nearby shopping center, it is always on foot and I am always back in time for her next feeding. Thats it--you are officially my inspiration! Maybe Ill take her out somewhere further tomorrow

that's great! you do need to know that you can do it b/c it really does help with the baby blues. getting out to target or stop and shop with my newborn last summer was a life-saver!

I know the feeling. Now that my son is two and half months, I feel such a difference. We go out, play, and have a blast. You are going to love it once you get out even more.

I remember my first "outing" alone with DD - I took her to Jones Beach and walked on the Boarwalk -- what a feeling of accomplishment!!
It only gets better from here on in!!
