Those of you who saw Cloverfield - quick question

Is this a scary movie? Or like a sci fi type thing like I am Legend or The Sixth Sense?

Just trying to figure out if I should bother renting it. Was it good? Thanks in advance!

To me it was more sci fi than horror, but it had an aspect of a psycholgical thriller. The camera bounces around a lot and it made me dizzy and a little nauseaus, so I had to keep my eyes closed for most of it. It may be different on a smaller screen though. If you rent it, let me know what you think.

The darkness and the camera shaking were intentional. The attack happened at night, hence the darkness and it's filmed in the first person, so it feels like you're part of the action. You are watching the tape that the guy filmed during the party, and during the attack.

I thought it was VERY good.

I thought it was sci-fi/action.

I ordered it from IO, and got so nauseous from the bouncing camera that I threw up halfway through it.

I found the ending unsatisfying..

ed: definately not that scary - I love sci/fi but hate horror movies and i thought it was ok---- suspenseful and nauseating, but not scary

I just watched it last night!

I would compare it to I am Legend. Although I thought I am legend was better, but its the same kind of concept.

My only complaint is that it is front the point of view of a handheld video camera. Not good if you get motion sickenss, which I do Chat Icon . I had to look away a couple of times but only for a few seconds.

It was a good movie, but I could hardly watch it. I saw it in the movie theater and all the camera shaking made me extremely nauseous. My friend had to leave the theater for a little while because she was so sick. What is funny is I never get motion sickness. It took me about three hours to recover. Lets just say I will never watch it again.

I watched it last night and I must say it was not that great. Wasn't horrible just thought it would be better with all the hype it got. The best way to describe how its filmed is like "The Blair Witch Project" yeah exactly makes you want to vomit with all the bouncing of the camera
