How Long Will You Wait Until Having 2nd? POLL

Just curious how long you will wait and when you think it's the ideal time to have a 2nd.

Personally I would wait until the 1st is able to walk (so no double stroller) and understand the concept of having a younger sibling.

we are going back and forth a bit with this...

DD is almost 15 months. I would like to TTC either in December (this way, baby #2 would arrive in september, making them 2 1/2 years apart). The only downside to that, for me, is being fully pregnant in the summer....

The other option is to wait another year to ttc and then baby #2 would be due in March, like my dd and they would be 3 years apart. The only downside to that is that the 2 children would have b-days very close to one another. I am leaning more toward ttc in December

We'll probably start trying when DS is 16-17 months (Sept. 2009) for various reasons:

1. My dr. recommended we wait at least a year bc DS was delivered by C-section.

2. I'm going to be 34 this year, so we really can't wait too long for #2.

3. Selfish as it is, I'd like to enjoy one summer at the beach before being PG again. I love, love, love the beach and we were not able to use our boat last year bc I was pregnant and afraid to go on the boat, and this summer bc DS is a newborn.

I'd like to put it on the table after Ryan's first birthday but I know that there's no point in planning this - we may decide we're ready sooner (doubt it though!) or might not be ready next year.
Ideally, I'd like my DC to be 2-3 years apart.

Wanted #2 to be 2-3 years apart, didn't happen that way, my girls are 14 months apart and I wouldn't change a thing or have it any other way!

DS is 22 months and we are trying now for #2.

We're probably going to start trying this fall. DD will be 2 in November. I'd like them to be 2-3 years apart.

I'm done but I conceived with each subsequent child around the older one's first bday. LMAO, i guess it was smart to do it before the TTs kicked in - the wording of that choice showed such vision I actually only had one child who has done the terrible twos - and I'm living it right now.

I would love to try right away (always wanted to have my kids very close together) but we are not in the position financially to be able to get a bigger place so we can have another one. Not to mention my ILs watch DD and they are in their late 60s so I think 2 very young ones would be too much for them. So we plan to wait until DD is 2ish before trying for the next.

DS is 19mths and we are going TTC this summer. If all goes well they will be 2.5yrs apart

I would like to start trying when DD is 16 months that way when DC #2 is born DD will have just turned 2...she was a Jan 2nd baby and I would like to have the next in feb/march (we will see if that works out) (not not until next summer!)

We will start TTC when DD is about a year-how close they are in age depends on how quickly get pregnant again.

We wanted to wait till DS was in Kindergarten. We started TTC when he was 4. He is 5 now and we are still trying. We are dealing with secondary IF issues. So now who knows how old DS will be when we finally conceive.

God kinda took over and gave us a surprise! Ours will be about 13 months apart. I feel like I've been preggo forever, but I'm super excited to have them close together.

We want to wait till DS will be 3 years old. If it happens sooner - so be it!

We are planning to get pregnant next year, we'd like to wait until our house is bigger (renovation) or we move.

Not long. DS will be around 6 months when I go back to my RE to see if I can get pg again.

I have to wait until Ds is about 4. I need to finish school. WOrk, school and baby is a LOT, but TWO would be just TOO MUCH, and not fair to the children, or me. Also, I can't afford to have 2 in daycare right now.

I hate waiting that long because I deal with IF, but what can I do? I am just not ready right now to try. I am enjoying my lil one sooooooo much.

I totally thought I would be a member of 2 way under 2... then DD came and we were so in love and SOOO busy that I couldnt possibly get pregnant right away.

We had a few vacations/trips etc. that delayed us by a few months, ideally I wanted another summer baby. we were lucky enough to get pregnant on the first try again, when Sydney was about 18 months old I am due in november, Syd will be a 2 years and 3 months, which turned out to be perfect timing. IF we have #3, that will be the same timing hopefully!

josh is 18 mos, I wanted to make sure I BF him for the year.

Now, I want to have a fun summer with him...I want to get pregnant in Sept.
