Any other teachers worried about tomorrow with no AC?
I was DEAD today just sitting around with the heat and I cant imagine teaching on the second floor tomorrow with no AC!!!!!
It wont help to have 100 8th graders all whining about it either...

I feel bad for you! being pregnant, I wouldn't be able to tolerate the heat. I felt dizzy today just walking to my car I can't imagine being in a hot room all day

DH's school just left a broadcast message that they are dismissing at 12:30 tomorrow because of the heat. Please take it easy -- keep hydrated!

I am so sorry you have to teach in this weather. I was pregnant and teaching last year at this time too. It is horrible teaching in really hot weather. Please. take it easy and if at any point you do not feel well try to see if you can get some to relieve you, and find a place to cool down. Do not over do it, and do not let the kids get you upset. Relax and drink lots of water. I know a few times last year my 9th graders really got on my nerves in the heat.

im lucky... we have A/C in my classroom... but tomorrow is the senior BBQ which is outside... that is going to be a scorcher!

As of last Thursday, the a/c unit in my room was not working. If it continues to be not working, I wont work. I'll go home. I too am on the second floor. I brought this to the attention of the head maintenance person a well as one of the directors. It crapped out last year as well. IF the a/c isnt working this summer, I won't teach summer school.

Luckily for me, we have a/c in all the classrooms...however tomorrow is our field day and I'm dreading being outside in the heat

Our field day was the week before last. I opted not to go. It was a reasonable accommodation.

your hubby works for a good school district.. we have no ac either.. we're "SUPPOSE TO" but apparently it only works in the winter months.. and i have personally addressed with with our superintendent to no avail..
if it gets to hot i'm signing out and going home. i have my brother dropping me off at work today nad he's going to carry a fan in for me that will be placed next to my desk for my personal use.. my students will have to just suffer unfortunately..

I'm on the fourth floor. I don't know what I'll do if the AC doesn't work today. I'm very worried that it is going to be horrendous in the room.

this is the reason why i called in sick today....no a/c in my classroom, 3rd floor and not one prep period bc computer was going to be cancelled so no breaks to pee or to just BREATHE in the a/c offices (b/c of course THEY have a.c....=(..)....so i decided it was not a healthy day for me to go into work....especially since my ankles and feet DID NOT look to good yesterday i could only imagine what they would look like today if i was there! good luck everyone that went in!

I am worried and I am not pg. Please take care of yourself!! I am bringing in my box fan because in my office, the windows don't open.
Drink tons of water and stay off your feet if you can. I know that is kind of hard though.

I am sitting here as I type in a classroom that is 150,000 degrees. It's torture........teacher abuse!!!  The end of the year cannot get here fast enough!!!!!

I'd have to wait until after 12:30 or I lose a day. I can't lose a day right now if I need to tack it on to my maternity leave.

I just got home. It wasn't as bad as I thought, but I start teaching at 7:20 Am and my last class is in the air conditioned digital photography room. It was a pain all semester, but I was so grateful today.
