I Think Ella Hates Stage 3 Foods

I started Ella on stage 3 foods last week and she doesn't like it. I don't know if she hates the little chunks in the food or what. I cannot get her to eat the food the way she normally eats without a problem. The minute she taste the food in her mouth she spits it out.

Anyone else DD does this? Any suggestions? TIA!

I always found stage 3 confusing for them. It's the regular puree with some chunks thrown in. Each one of mine have had the same reaction as your DD. I mean the bananas are fine but the dinners and things are too confusing for them. I usually make my own babyfood to begin with. But the jarred food was always good for on the go. I either stuck with Stage 2 or picked a few that were'nt so bad..(I think the mac & cheese is good) but we were home I just did table food etc.

maybe start slower. Add a little to the stage 2 till she gets used to the texture.

Is it too early to start regular table food in tiny pieces?

I have to defend Ella in saying that just the LOOK of the Stage 3 is kinda yucky.....Chat Icon

I am not looking to it either. We tried little pieces of solid food like Cheerios. The minute it hits DS' tongue he sticks his tongue out and try to spit it. He even shakes his head in disguss (it's actually quite funny to watch! Chat Icon )

I bought stage 3 also but did not try. I agree with PP to mix with stage 2 a bit so it's less lumpy.

Gina, it's funny because DH thinks I should just give her regular table food. I think I might as well do just that.

DS HATES Cheerios. I bought some graduate Apple wheels. He tries nipping at it. We have been more successful in introducing solid food with those.

Ella loves Puffs but hates picking them up on her own.

I never gave Stage 3s. Your DD is around 9 months right? I would def. move onto table food instead - it will make your life THAT much easier IMO! Chat Icon
