Anyone flew with a passport in their maiden name and a marriage certif. lately?
I just realized that my passport is in my maiden name but my ticket for a flight tomorrow is in my married name. I have driver license in both names but they are both expired!
Can I board the plane with my maiden name passport and marriage certif proofing name change?

I did this in 2006 but they told me they were cracking down and I could not do it again. When I went in Dec. 2007 I had changed my passport so not sure if I would have gotten turned away...

You may want to call the airline.
I was told I had to have both in the same name. I still buy plane tickets with my maiden name for this reason (My passport has my maiden name).

THank you, guys!
I called the airline and they said I should be fine as along as I have all my papers with me and my marriage certif.
Luckily, my flight is domestic. I am sure if it was international it would have been much more complicated! let's hope I get to board that palce tomorrow!!
And the thing is--I have been married for over 5 years... IDIOT!

Where are you traveling too? I would think it would probably be ok here, checking in at the airline... but if you are going somewhere "exotic", I would think you might have troubles with immigration and checking in to return. How could they verify that your certificate is legit?

I wish! I am going to Texas. Could hardly qualify as exotic, although may be for us, New Yorkers, it could be!

I travel regularly with a passport in my maiden name, a ticket in my maiden name and a copy of my marriage certificate in case they need to see it. We travel as a family with 2 UK citizens and one US citizen and we never have any problems checking in or going through customs.

when I went to Italy I had to call the airline b/c same thing happened to me and BOTH had to be same or I couldnt board the flight! so I just changed the ticket to my maiden name, it was easier and no fee.

My passport is in my maiden name and I was told as long as I bring my marriage license to show the name change, it's fine. I've never had a problem with it! Good Luck!

I don't think you even need your passport for a domestic flight. Just your driver's license. We didn't bring passports to Hawaii last summer. Just our driver's licenses.
