I am such a Procrastinator -Birthday help

Logans birthday is July 5th which is 4th of July weekend obviously and I keep mentioning to DH what are we going to do? I shouldn't wait for an answer and should have just found something and booked it.. but I don't know where or what to do for a 1st birthday. I've never been.

Our backyard is just not possible right now. Not sure what our guest list might be like, maybe tops 40 people.

Can anyone help me in the Brookhaven area. Mid Suffolk

I am soo clueless about this.

Do you have a lot of children attending? Or is it mostly adults.

Are you looking for a restaurant or a kids-place?

I have no idea. I think I'll invite about 5 infants and about 4 toddlers and 2 kids under 10.

Don't know about the location since I don't know whats around. Don't know of any kid places either Chat Icon

Village Crossroads in Calverton

Bellport Country Club

25 Main in Sayville

Irish Coffee Pub in East Islip

If you wanted a "kid place" there is a Chuck-e-Cheese in Patchogue...

Ok - so since it's July 4th weekend - do you want to do a 4th of July theme? Or does your DS have a favorite cartoon or something?

Once you get the place on lockdown the rest is really easy.

It doesn't sound like you'll have many kids so you don't need to spend $$ on entertainment.

For the kids that you are having - if you want to do favors - you can use Joenick . She's amazing. I would do a beach pail type favor I think. Or you could do the regular bins that she does - that's what I'm doing and Jack's is on June 28th.

Most places will supply the cake so that would be taken care of.

I don't think you need to have it at a kids place just yet. You don't have that many kids that would be able to appreciate it!

Re: I am such a Procrastinator -Birthday help

I could start just like for a wedding

- Set a budget
- How many people? Kids?
- Do you have a theme? Character? Knowing your DC likes and dislikes helps
- Find a restaurant that will accomodate your party

Things to remember
- invitations with RSVP date
- directions to restaurant
- thank you notes
- food/restaurant
- cake
- candles for cake
- presents (and wrapping paper/bags)
- Decorations/balloons, etc.
