running water coming up in downstairs neighbor's sink???
i was just washing dishes and my downstairs neighbor (i am in an apartment complex) started banging on the door and asked if i was running water (i was) and then told me that the water was coming up in THEIR kitchen sink (which is directly below our kitchen sink).
has anyone ever heard of this??? i turned the water off and told them to call maintenance... W T F???

Yup, there is a backup somewhere and it's going to start backing up in their place first

sorry if i sound totally dumb  but would the backup be in my place or theirs, or just somewhere in the complex? i kind of need to use my kitchen sink!

my guess would be the back-up is in common waste pipes close to your neighbor's apt......
