Freezing Breastmilk

What do you think is the best amount to freeze breastmilk in? I will be using it starting when DD is 10 weeks old and I am back at work.

eta: any other tips for freezing are much appreciated Chat Icon

Re: Freezing Breastmilk

I would freeze between 2-4 oz. This way you don't end up wasting any.

Re: Freezing Breastmilk

I use to freeze the amount of a serving. So 3 oz, then 4oz later, then 5 oz. I never froze more than 5 oz. You may want to do 2 oz servings too in case DC wants more. That way you don't want to thaw more than you need.

I've mainly been freezing 4 oz. bags and an occasional 2 oz. bag in case DS needs to be topped off with extra milk. Good luck!
