Confessions of a bad mommy
Yesterday I went to go to B&N in Massapequa with DS.
He was fussy when we almost arrived so when we got there I brought him into the nearby BRU to try and nurse him - at this point he was screaming.
I took him straight to the Mommy Room and took him out of the carseat to find he had been pulling at his face in frustration and nearly pulled his eyeball out. I was upset and so was he. He wasn't interested in nursing - he just wanted me to snuggle him, which I did. We sat there -him staring at me as I calmed him for 10-minutes 
Once he settled down I put him back in the carseat (leaving him unstrapped in case I needed to soothe him again). We strolled around BRU and I grabbed some nail files for him (which I threw in my Snap N Go basket).
Then I proceeded on to B&N where I spent 20-minutes or so. DS fell asleep finally and we went home.
DH met me at the car when I got home and carried the carseat in and pulled up the sun shade to discover his little guy was not strapped in. W T F? is wrong with me?! I almost vomited thinking of the possibilities of me getting in an accident or him falling out of the seat when I was shifting him around.
And, to boot, I stole those nail files!
I forgot I had them in my basket.
So, I guess I could use some more sleep

Don't bet yourself up, we all have our moments.
Well, it was DH, not me that dodn't strap Gavin in his swing and he swuirmed onto the floor.... ....
And JUST YESTERDAY Dh didn't attach the stroller part to the base properly and as I was wheeling the stroller down a little dip in the sidewalk, DS flipped over onto the sidewalk in his stroller!!!!!!
Thankfully I strapped him in and he didn't get hurt.
Thanks jackass!!!!!!
But I do have to  that you stole the nail files!!!

That's what I figure - now I learned my lesson and he gets strapped in everytime.
Kind of wish DH didn't discover it. Honestly, had he done it I would have killed him.

I was almost in tears when I realized he wasn't strapped and DH was ljoking with Ryan saying he broke the law and then I said, "Sh!t - I stole too!!"

The good news is "no harm done". We all definitely have moments where we say to ourselves, "what the he!! was I thinking?!" You'll certainly never do that again!

I think we do these things sometimes so that we realize that if we are human and make these mistakes....just think of how our husbands must feel 
You are totally not a bad mommy, your DS is fine!

she was in her straps but not clicked in...I was so upset at first, but like a PP said, it's totally normal.

I almost did that last week... caught it just in time and yesterday I took DD out in her snap and go for a walk and realized I didn't buckle her in.
Also, went for a walk with snap and go when it wasn't put together properly - I had been distracted by a neighbor when i "snapped" it in and didn't check it.
I'm glad you posted this, I guess we all have made these kinds of mistakes before - Just glad nothing happened.

OK - listen to thisone... DH had the car seat in his car during the weekend, and Sunday night, put the car seat in my car and told me that I needed to buckle the car seat in in the monring, because it was too dark...
so, monday morning, I'm rushing like a lunatic to get to work, shlep out Cailen, my 100 bags, etc - he probably was screaming all morning too...
so we are headed off to daycare, and he falls asleep. I make a sharp turn amd hear THUD...
I'm thinking, "thud?" 
Turn around - where's Cailen?????? 
Still asleep, strapped in the car seat, turned on his side!!!!!
He never woke up as i pulled the car over, hysterical crying and trying to buckle the seat in - also thinking all the awful scenarios and "what ifs!!!!"
