I had mine at a small hall. It was an 80s theme, and there were about 70 people.
This included family and friends...I made everyone rock the cheesy theme.

Me either. I went out to dinner with my family a week before and then out with DH on my actual birthday.

I threw DH a surprise party with only friends and our parents and had about 60 people...For my 30th, we did dinner and drinks and there were about 15 of us.
ETA: I didn't want a huge party so I got a puppy instead!!

didn't have one. We were planning a wedding..it was just DH and me. Then i went out with my friend for dinner and my parents took us out for dinner.
I got to celebrate it 3 times!

I'm not there yet -
But I had DH's in the backyard (His BDay is in July) and it was ONLY friends and cousins around our age we hang out w/ .....I skipped the parents and Aunts/Uncles, Grandparents - No need for them to be at the party IMO -
I had a small dinner for him with the old folks

I didn't have a 30th Bday Party (didn't want one), but I did have a huge one for DH. There was over 200 people there. It was a fabulous time.

I dont want a 30th b-day party. I told my husband that I want to be suprised with a vacation. I dont even want to know where I am going until we get to the airport. I totally trust that he will pick something amazing!!!
For my husbands birthday, I am throwing a small party with his close family & friends- (In all about 50 people).

My sister threw me a surprise party at our parent's house.... i would say we had about 30 people tops. i think 100 is too much for a 30th. it was mainly my friends and immediate or VERY close family friends.

Me either! My fiance at the time was in the hospital so I went to dinner with my girlfriend then got a small ice cream cake & snuck up into the hospital to see him.

I'm not 30 yet, but had one for DH in December with 85 people. It was for him and one of his best friends jointly - so they share a lot of friends or it would have been a lot more.

25 ppl for dinner @ a north shore steakhouse. I didn't want a party b/c I I chose bling, but my family still did a "small" surprise party.
