It's the Radio Flyer Ultimate Trike and you can steer it with the parent handle, ,which actually turns the front wheel. I tried it with my DS in Toys R Us the other day and he looked very proud of himself tooling around. It's $75 though so I'm looking for reviews before purchasing for his 2nd bday. Thanks

I haven't tried it yet, but I got a similar one at Target for $44 this week. They have all trikes on sale ending Saturday. I got the last one they had in Levittown, but it was in the circular so they will give you a rain check.

ETA: We also have a Kettler Ketrike that has the handle for the parent to push. Since you can't lock the front wheel sometimes we end up going in circles for a bit, but as she's getting older it's getting better. They have started to fight over it, so we wanted another one and I didn't want to spend a lot on it.

My MIL bought this for DS for Christmas. We've only used it once and DS seemed to like it (probably more because he hates his stroller) But its just OK. I didn't think the handling was all that great but it serves its purpose.

I haven't seen it, but I just couldn't help but laugh at the "UV Protection Canopy". Even if you situated the bike in exactly the right position, and didn't move the bike, it would only protect a few inches of their scalp. With it that high, and that small, what's the use? The only way it would work is if the sun was behind DC, and then your shadow would completely cover the canopy.... Chat Icon Chat Icon

We have the backyardigans trikes which are easy to handle and it was only about 50 ish bucks I beleive. It has and adjustable seat and a spot for their feet when they don't know how to peddle, so we liked those options.

Good point! Chat Icon I didnt even look at the canopy in the store. I mainly zoned in on the steering option for the adult, which seemed like it might work. My older kids didn't use a trike too much and we went straight to bikes with training wheels. I like the idea that there's the steering option out there for $50 instead.

My FIL brought it for DS for Xmas. We have not put it together or used it yet. We will probably start using it when the weather gets warmer.

The rest of the bike seems good. I think if I bought that, I would just not bother using it.... I like the idea that the adult handle in the back actually steers. Chat Icon

Its nice to push around, but when your dc gets older it is way to hard for him to do alone. The old fashion simple kind is probably best. My son rides a two wheeler with training wheels and still can't move that thing.
