American Girl dolls

Am I the only one who had no idea that they get $90 for one doll? That's crazy!

Re: American Girl dolls

I know they are expensive. I had one when I was a little girl and still have it today actually.

Re: American Girl dolls

My niece has a lot of those dolls, my parents take her into the city for her b-day every year to get a new doll. She loves them!! Its a really cute place though and they also serve lunch there.

They are super cute. Yesterday at a craft fair I got a cheerleader outfit for our town that fits an American Girl doll. But I remember the time I used markers to give my dolls and Barbies makeup. I guess I'll wait a while until Sarah gets one, I'll get a cheaper doll at TRU to put the outfit on for now.

They are gorgeous! But think about what all those video games etc cost. This is at least something of meaning.

Love them! I also really love they get girls excited about history!

Yes, they are expensive, but they haven't really gone up in price in the almost 20 years they have been around.

My sister and I got them when I was 8 and she was 6 (we are 27 and 25 now) and they were $84. Most of the sets are priced the same too..

Not saying they are CHEAP or anything.

My little cousin has like fiveChat Icon

Re: American Girl dolls

My niece has 2. She got her first one for Christmas when she was a little older, like 6 or 7, I think. The second one she chose when my sister told her she could spend $ on a birthday party or buy another doll. She chose the doll because she said it was something she could keep forever.

Re: American Girl dolls

I never even heard of them until a friend with a daughter was telling me about them a year or so ago. I don't think I'll be getting my daughter one at any point. She seems happy enough with the one she has now and it was $10. Just not my thing

Very pricey. Plus they also get you with all the stuff girls are told they need to buy.

After we brought Maddie home from the hospital, DH said "No American Girl dolls." I had no idea he even knew what they were.

When he told his crew on the construction site that he had a girl, it was one of the first pieces of advice he got - right after putting rose bushes under her window.Chat Icon I still laugh when I think of these guys in hard hats discussing American Girl dolls.

Very expensive. The accessories are too. We get them for his goddaughter. The amount of bags going through Penn during Christmas time is ridiculous. They also have American Girl doll birthday packages where they send you the accessories. My sister looked into & instead bought red paper & tableclothes & made the white star & lettering.

What I like is that the dolls and stories have a positive message. They are wholesome!

I much prefer a $100 doll that teaches American history and values to a slutty brtz dolls that teaches god knows what!
