I think I would want to wait just so you don't have to compete with people's opinions...

We are waiting to say the names, we did this with DS as well. We did spill the middle name choices though!

This time around we are not finding out the sex either!

It a conundrum because my friend had her baby, Ella, and she got TONS of stuff at her shower with the baby's name on it.

However, she also had to listen to people saying "what is Ella short for?" (nothing) and "I don't care for that name...how about (fill in person's name of choice)"

It's a toughie....

We told everyone. I could care less what anyone says...

I told people we were 90% sure and not to get anything engraved or anything like that!

everyone in the free world knows our boy name. Our girl name is a secret.
So if it is a girl, they will all have to wait until she is born

Definitely going to wait. And since we are not finding out the sex of the baby it will really be a surprise!

honestly I dont care what people think. If its a boy, we are naming him Benjamin - I have had a lot of people tell me that they like it but some family has said they didnt and it doenst bother me.

Not everyone is going to like the same names

well the boy name everyone knows its an obvious predictable one but the girl names just my mom and dad know bc i talk to them more but if my mom in law asked i would tell her no biggie....she doesnt like it too bad so sad not her kid

We did for our DD. Not everyone was a fan of some of the names we picked out. It gets annoying when all you hear is "well, what about this name..."

Next one we are not telling a soul.

We have some names that we like, but I think we will wait to share with anyone other than Grandparents.

I learned the hard way not to tell anyone, although I did spill our 3 choices to a couple of friends, my mom & my sister (DH doesn't know I did that so sshh). Until the big day, we are just telling everyone that his name is Cheriff, pronounced like sheriff but spelled as a combo of our names.

No and not because we are worried about what people think of the name but mainly because we are so indecisive and may change our minds last minute.

DH and I were arguing over the girls name last time. He thought I agreed on one and told everyone but I never agreed and I told him not to tell anyone. Anyway, we had a boy so it didn't matter.

I only told a few friends and some family. SInce the names are familial, we haven't gotten any push back.

nope - we are keeping it a secret. we will tell everyone what the sex is when we find out but the name will be a secret until he/she is born - i really just don't want to deal with comments, not so much from family (although i can name some who will be like ) but moreso from friends and coworkers because they have the BIGGEST mouths!!

We havent told anyone. I figure it will be the one surprise since everyone already knows that we're having a girl.

After. Nobody will know. Its the one thing we have left that is ours. Someone is bound to say somethng hurtful or stupid even though the name choices we have are classic and traditional.

i told my mom some of the names i liked and she didnt like them and i found it very annoying

We are not telling anyone until after the baby is born. We know exactly what we are naming him, but when people ask, and they do ask about 10 times a day, we say we arent sure yet. We really dont want to deal with all of the "suggestions" and comments, so we will tell after the name is on the birth certificate , then it will be too late for their comments
