I dont understand people. Why didnt her family or the fathers take the kids away from her since they were making the complaints and CS were not responding quick enough?
My family would take my son in a heartbeat if they felt he was endangered in any way.

it's easier said than done. we don't know that they didn't try - the dad was going to go to family court to try and get custody. unless there is a court order, if they took the kids, the mom could have called the police and the family would have had to return the kids. from what i have read (and i know i don't have the whole story) this mom tried to get help but the system failed her.

CS was there on friday and they said nothing they could do, and the fathers were fighting to take custody of children.

The grandmother tried to get them taken away as well.
I actually have a neighbor in my old neighborhood that has had the cops & CPS called at least 10 times in the past year. She is not married to the fathers of her children, and they have not been granted custody even though they brought her to court. It is not easy, and the bureaucracy and red tape are ridiculous.
Those poor kids

i know it seems weird but even if the mom was looking for help, so are tons of other moms in nassau county. CPS could not have just taken the kids because she wanted them to - unless she threatened to harm them, which i'm guessing she did not. there is a process and a procedure that has to be followed so the system is not abused. CPS caseworkers are SO overworked these days, if they didn't follow procedure they would drown.
as for the custody issue, i addressed that above.

i dont understand how any human being can hurt a child,especially a mother,from the moment your pregnant you have that motherly feeling of love for them.And with alot of us mothers you feel that for all children as well. Haven't you been, say in a store and a child falls and you want to run over and help,or you do run over and help.Thats your motherly instict,it just comes natural,how can a mother lose that,or never have it to begin with,it's sad,that those poor children have to pay the price.I pray from those children.And give your kids an extra hug and kiss today, and know in your heart that when your baby smiles at you,you know your being the best mother you can.It's a wonderful feeling knowing that..god bless you all and your kids,
