Professional Pics...
I have a couple of questions....
DH and I want to take Caden for his first professional pics. We dont need a ton of pictures..really just enough for ourselves. We CANT spend a lot of $$ so we dont want to be faced with any surprises. Honestly, Im really clueless when it comes to this type of stuff and prefer to just take my own pics...Please help.
Where did you go???
Where would you NOT go???
How much did you spend????
Do they all have just plain backdrops..like black or white?
Who is the best for the $$$?
Thanks everyone....

Re: Professional Pics...
We've only gone to Target so far, and they are very reasonable IMO. You can go to their website and print coupons: there's one coupon for a package (don't remember the specifics, but I think there's an 8x10, few 5x7s, few smaller), and it's only $7.99-- no sitting fee either. No strings attached, just can only choose 1 pose for the package and those are the only pics you can get (meaning you can't get that package for that price and add more pics).
They also have coupons on their website for $3.99/sheet, no sitting fee. A very good deal IMO. No minimum, strings attatched, anything else. We've gotten only plain backdrops b/c that's what we wanted, but maybe others know what others they have.
The pics came out great too, I think!

Re: Professional Pics...
JC Penney's does a great job and they have coupons on their website. If you go in with just a few pics on mind, you won't pay a lot. It seems as if they always pull you in for the bigger package. If you stay strong then you won't pay a lot.

Re: Professional Pics...
We have only been to Sears. They are pretty reasonable, depending on the package you want. I have had nothing but good experiences there. As for backdrops you can go to searsportrait.com (I think that's the site) and they show you the different backdrops you can choose.

Re: Professional Pics...
I've always gotten good shots at kiddie kandids and they have a lot of backgrounds and props...but I never walk out of there spending less than $100.
I recently got and ad from JCPenny were there is no sitting fee, free 8X10 and sheets are only $3.99 a piece!
Sears is cheaper too.
Just don't let them talk you into anything you don't want.

Nope - they had a whole bunch

I thought I got a TON of stuff and it was very worth it to me. And they always have coupons.

Re: Professional Pics...
I loved Sears--we had his 3 month and christmas pics taken there.
For both, I purchased the CD which without buying any prints came to $140. Then I downloaded them to KodakGallery and bought prints.
For his 3 months I had a beautiful collage with sepia prints--this was about $120 but I loved it!
My advice for wherever you go is to go during the week and make the 1st appt of the day

We go to KMart, they do a pretty good job. They have an Olan Mills studio. We are actually going today so I will report back on how much I spend

Re: Professional Pics...
I have been to all of them and JcPenny is definitley the cheapest and they do just as good a job as Sears and Target IMO. Each sheet is only $3.99 (with coupon) and I have found they dont pressure you too much either. KK is great but will deinfitley cost you more $$
