Another Baptism Question
Thanks to everyone who gave me advice about an appropriate gift. Now, my next question...
What do you wear to a baptism? How dressy is it? There's a casual party after, at what seems to be a nice pizzeria-type place. TIA!

Re: Another Baptism Question
It's not as fancy as a wedding, but i would wear dress pants and a nice top or a dressy skirt and top.
ETA: i would definitely wear the above if you are going to the church service.

Re: Another Baptism Question
Somewhere around business casual, or maybe slightly dressier, but not as dressed up as something you'd wear to a wedding. I usually wear a skirt and a blouse or a knee-length casual dress, if that helps!

Re: Another Baptism Question
You wear about what you'd wear to a bridal shower. I think men should wear a jacket or a tie, especially if going to the church service. In my family, the men almost always wear suits to a Christening, but some are a little more casual than that. A sports jacket is probably fine!
I've seen men show up with just polo shirts on, but that's not the norm -- and honestly I don't think most Christenings are that casual.
You can always ask the host / hostess, too. I'm sure they wouldn't be offended if you asked how dressy it is!
Enjoy!

Re: Another Baptism Question
I was recently a godmother at a Christening. I wore a pencil skirt and a turtleneck sweater. DH had to come straight after work, he wore a black button down shirt and khakis; no one looked at us funny.
