Moms with 2 or more...just curious
did you find that your second child was the "opposite" of your first? Meaning - everyone tells me that since Hannah is such a good baby, my DS is going to be a terror. I'm petrified, because although she's good she has her "faults" (i.e. doesn't nap)
Did you find any truth to this statement?

Not really, my kids has pretty similar temperaments. I think it's just something people like to say when they don't have anything else to say!

Re: Moms with 2 or more...just curious
For me Totally false!
My 2nd baby girl is actually MUCH easier than my 1st-well once we got the protein allergy diagnosed.
Everyone told me the same thing, watch out the 2nd will be a terror, so far, i see no sign of Horns

Re: Moms with 2 or more...just curious
Yes, they are the complete opposite ... now. For the first year, they were both the absolute best babies ever. Both ate well, slept well (still do) and were just go-with-the-flow-babies. My older son is still so easy going. My DD (20 months), is a terror. She is into everything and doesn't sit still for a minute. She cries all day long when she wants something or doesn't get her way. She's totally a little crying diva. So opposite. But good nonetheless (sleeps all night, eats well, etc.), so I'll take the bad with the good.

Re: Moms with 2 or more...just curious
Not really. Both of my kids are good, Sarah is a little shy and high-strung around strangers, Andy is a little more laid back.
The hardest times for us were when she had colic, and when his milk allergy hadn't been diagnosed yet and we thought he was just being difficult about eating. Once those issues were resolved it's been fine.
Of course, now that I've said that aloud all heck is going to break loose in the house after she gets home from school.

DS was very good, but I think DD is even better, as far as temperament and overall attitude.

Re: Moms with 2 or more...just curious
My 1st was a tough, tough baby. She just cried and puked the first 6 months of her life. It was hard.
So far #2 is a breeze. He is just a lot easier. I am only 10 weeks in but so far they are night and day.

Re: Moms with 2 or more...just curious
That was the case for my SIL - my niece has always been very high energy and her younger brother is so mellow.
Not the case with mine. While I can't say they are all the same bc they do have their different ways, none of them have proved to be complete opposites either.

Re: Moms with 2 or more...just curious
Well - both of my kids were colicky. Both had a milk protein allergy, but DS #1 was much easier to handle with it - as for DD # 2 - nightmare - she was horrible crying all the time until 6 months. She is much better now. My son is very easy going and quiet - goes along with anything. DD hates the carseat, getting her jacket on - you name it and it is a problem - and she is only 9 months

Re: Moms with 2 or more...just curious
Pretty much and thank God! My older DD was and is quite a handful, temperament wise. My younger one is so easy going (so far). Both girls have been great sleepers and eaters (well, Kate became a picky toddler)!
