CRV or Highlander
DH and I thought we were set that we wanted the CRV. We also have a neighbor who works for Honda so he was going to help us out with the price. This past week we were away and rented a highlander and we loved it. When we were driving and we'd see the CRV on the road it looked very small compared to the highlander. The highlander is more money but we might need the large space since we will have two kids. Any opinions? Is the highlander worth the extra $? Anyone recommend a certain toyota dealership or salesperson? Thanks

Re: CRV or Highlander
my co-worker has a brand new '08 Highlander - fully loaded... leather, navigation system, the works. it's VERY nice! but $$$$$$$!!!
it's a totally different class of car than the CR-V. a more fair comparison would be the Highlander to the Honda Pilot.

I was just going to suggest to look at the Honda Pilot - its comparable to the Highlander.

Re: CRV or Highlander
The equivalent of the CRV is the RAV4 not the highlander.
The highlander is $$$$$. Just don't go to the Toyota dealership on Old Country Rd in Woodbury by the Century 21. WORST dealership EVER!!!!! They tried to lease us a highlander with no options, no leather for $599 a month. DH and I were laughting. I could lease a Mercedes for that price.

you could lease an ML350 with hardly any money down for that price
I was quoted in the $600 range for the highlander and in the $700 plus range on the 4runner
I was in shock
