With the Nikon DSLRs (40, 40x or 80)
I'll be able to catch pics of DD quicker, right? I seem to always miss the shot b/c I'm waiting for the camera to be ready again.
Also, b/c she's so active now, half of my shots are blurry...this is not going to be the case with the DSLR's, right?
I'm not super-great with technology, so I'm just wondering if I'll be able to eliminate these two issues with a basic function on the camera.
Thanks!
BTW, still don't know which one I'm getting out of those three, if it matters!

I don't have a Nikon, but I do have a SLR.
It's so much quicker than a normal digital.
I took pictures for a friend last weekend with her digital and I was so impatient with it!!
Even with an SLR though, I use the "children" setting since he's always on the move now.

yes, DSLR is the way to go. I have the Nikon D50 for almost 2 years now and I'm still trying to learn all the settings. BUt on auto, it captures great shots!

I have the D40x and it makes wonderful pics. Yes, it's MUCH faster. You can do a continuous shoot. I never lose those "moments" now. I am soooooo happy. I wish I had it before. I never lose that smile/face when he ate carrots for the 1st time, etc... AND I am still on the AUTO mode.

exactly my problem too, seems like I miss the shots or they're blurry from DD moving around. I wonder if the D40 has the same function, I'll have to research it.
Reassuring to hear you ladies are still on the auto mode and loving the pics too!

Yes, there is almost no shutter lag with an SLR as there is with regular digital cameras.
As for blurriness - that will still depend on your shutter speed at the time of the shot and what kind of motion is going on in the shot. Kiddies are still very fast! But the SLRs do just fine on Auto.
