TMI Nipple question for 3rd trimester ladies
I heard that the nipples get darker and larger during pregnancy so that if you are breastfeeding, the babies can find them. So I'm fine with that. What I'm wondering about is why on the tips of my nipples there are white (offwhite) spots. When I take a long bath, there seems like there are more of them, but they are always there. It doesn't hurt. I assumed it had something to do with milk production. Does anyone else have this?

With me- those spots are from slight milk leakage- I think?
Sorry to be gross- but when I nursed DS the milk would dry up and stay on the nipples in between feedings.
It went away and then came back recently- I'm in my 29th week and noticed that a little milk has started coming out in a warm shower- sorry TMI!

I have them too but mostly around my areola's not so much on my nipples. I dont know why they are there, the doctor said they are just skin tags.

i think they have something to do with oil glands... like they come out to put out a little excess oil so that our nips don't crack so bad from the baby's feeding.

I have something different- at the tips of my nip- it will get so dried out that it looks white- like dead tissue.  a piece actually fell off once.
I lather my nips in cocoa oil now. It's really funny to watch.

That's what I thought. I have no idea if I am right though. I have actually been able to pick it off easily, but it kinda freaks me out. I've spotted no actual leakage...yet!
