Disney Trip ?

As of right now, I am 6w5d with my due date being Sept 5th. We were supposed to go to Disney in October with my parents but we had to cancel because of the baby coming. My mom said that the only time she will be able to go is the first week in June. I go to the doctor on Friday to confirm my due date, but he thinks it might get pushed back to Sept 10th or so, based on when I O'd. Do you think that going to Disney for 4 days the first week in June would be a bad idea?

Re: Disney Trip ?

I went to Disney/Seaworld/Universal when I was 13 weeks. My dr. didnt have a problem with it. I was very limited at Universal though so I wouldnt waste your money. Everything said "if pregnant, avoid"
Just double check with your Dr. to be sure.

I'm not planning on going on any rides. I just wanted to go to spend the time there with DH and my parents before the baby came.

Truth? I went to Disney in September with DH and family. I was 20 weeks preggo (so, not quite as far as u'd be, right?). I wouldn't say DON'T go, but I'm not going to lie to u and say "sure, it'll be a blast".

Disney in September is still pretty darn hot. We had weather in the 90's the whole week. That led to persistent swelling of my hands/feet and actually had me in a wheelchair by the end of the trip because I couldn't keep up with the walking. Of course, u can't go on the fun rides, but that's not a huge deal if u go to WDW often ... the rides will be there when u go back. Chat Icon

So, overall, I'd say u can definitely do it...but drink a lot of water and try to go slow, stay off u're feet when u can, and make sure your family keeps YOUR pace, not u trying to keep theirs.

DH and I went to Disney in mid August. I was about 7 weeks preggo. I talked to my doctor about it - she said to just take it easy. Listen to your body. Try to not get overheated. Drink lots of water. I took some naps, drank a ton of water, and kept going into the AC... luckily a lot of the lines are indoors, or under shade. There are still some calm rides you can go on Chat Icon Have a great time!!!!!

I went at sixteen weeks and had a great time! Disney is pure magic...You should be aware that June will be very crowded and temperatures will be in the 90's everyday....Go prepared with a good plan (arrive early, make dining ressies in advance, use Fast passes) and you will have a wonderful time. There is a very informative planning site www.disboards.com that you can look at for all types of information. I highly reccomend staying on Disney property so you can go back to your hotel for a nap/swim mid day, because you will want to escape the heat. You will also receive special privileges being an on property guest like Extra Magic Hours, which is when a park opens early/stays open up to three hours later for resort guests only. I'd be happy to help you in anyway I can with your trip. I love Disney, and we own DVC so we go twice a year.
Another important thing is to prepare your body by exercising...Disney requires a lot of stamina/walking.

I would definitely make plans to go!!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Disney Trip ?

I did Disney this past August with my family (I was only 4 months pg) and we had a good time. It was very warm and it will be warm in June also when you go. I love Disney and think you'll have a blast, but I would talk to your dr before you plan anything and make sure they are ok with you going. Make sure you drink lots of water and stay hydrated.
