Baby clothing sizes
My OB thinks will weigh about 8lbs5oz at birth, but i notice most newborn clothing comes in either, up to 7lbs or 0-3 months. Im concerned that up to 7 will be too small and 0-3 will be too big. Which size should I buy?

Re: Baby clothing sizes
My DS was 9lb 14 ozs and 22.5 inches at birth. He can fit in newborn but he maxs it out. For him the 0-3 seem to fit perfectly (although some brands which run small, the legs/arms are too short)
If you get a few things NB (for your shower or as gifts) I would keep them, but not too much.
The thing IMO to keep in mind more than the weight is the length. Even though DS is now more than 10 lbs the lenght is where I seem to have issues.

Re: Baby clothing sizes
My DS was 8lbs 12oz and he fit into the newborn clothes I received as gifts at my shower. I only bought 0-3 months because like a pp said they quickly grow out of the newborn clothes. I wouldn't worry about the 0-3 being to big because most babies at this age do not fit perfectly into their clothes, they are always a little big.

Not true. DS was 6lbs, 11oz at birth and wore NB for 3 months. He has always worn everything for a month more than the tag says (i.e. he wore 0-3 until he was 4 months, 3-6 until 7 months). In fact, he still fits in Carter's 6 month sleepers at 8+ months.

Re: Baby clothing sizes
I wouldn't buy too much in the NB size, because if your doctor's estimate turns out to be accurate your baby will only wear that size for a couple of weeks at most. My girlfriend has a 3 month old who's wearing 6-9 months already!! And I have another friend whose 2 month old is just starting to fill out 0-3 so it really varies by child.
If she turns out to be smaller, you can always buy more after she's born.

Re: Baby clothing sizes
Be advised, I was having an 8lb baby according to the dr's and she was 6lbs 7oz...5lbs 15 oz when we took her home. So be careful when you size according to what they tell you. Sometimes they can be VERY off I had a ton of 0-3 mths stuff and she stayed in newborn sizes for the 1st 3-4 months!

Re: Baby clothing sizes
my advice do not buy to many newborn clothing. I did not use half of DS newborn stuff when he was born. They grow so fast. I suggest getting 0-3 month clothing instead.
