having an emotional break down moment

Ok so im sitting here on couch and all of a sudden i just start crying and feel like my heart is palpitating. I guess im really nervous aboiut this pregnancy. I know i cant be guaranteed that everything is going to be fine but i hate not knowing that i cant guarantee this and have no control. I just fear something is going to go wrong and i wont be able to live with myself if something does. I feel like have no symptoms which worries more. I read so many post about women who had a miscarriage and it freaks me out. how do you all cope with this? thanks for lettine me vent

Re: having an emotional break down moment

Trust me...emotions go crazy during your pregnancy. Everyone worries and it doesn't stop after the first tri. I am in my 35 week and if I don't feel my son move for an hour I am nervous. Try to relax as much as possible and focus on your excitement rather then your nerves.

Awh sweetie, relax. the worst thing you can do is work yourself up. I will tell you this, I don't have many symptoms but I am extremely emotional!!!!!! Just relax and try to enjoy this early time. I am so scared too but there is nothing we can do. Worrying won't help us. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

The best way to put it is nothing is in our control, so no sense to get overly worried.
I would say not to get a doppler because it freaks people out when you hear nothing. There are many times when the baby is still or in a spot that you can't hear and then you would freak out worse!
Just do your best to make good decisions and everything will be fine Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Yes it is too early for a fetal doppler!

Re: having an emotional break down moment

Awwww, sending you many hugs. It is v. hard, esp. since we have no control over what is going to happen when we are PG. I can tell you that I had so many of the same worries when PG w. my son, and looking back I wish that I had enjoyed the pregnancy a little more. I almost feel like I robbed myself of some of the pleasure of being PG since I was so worried all of the time. I did feel that talking about it helped, just hearing people (esp DH) reassure me really made a difference.

I do totally relate to you, and think that in some ways pregnancy is mother natures way of teaching us to let go of the fears. If I carried out that level of anxiety that I had while preggo into parenting DS I would be a basket case lol. It is never easy, being a mom means giving up a piece of your heart, but it is SO worth it. And it does get easier. You just learn to let go of some of the fear. Then once they are born you stand over the basinett and tell yourself not to wake them on purpose to make sure they are breathing lol. At least then you are too tired to be too worried. I will get better! Enjoy this wonderful majical time and be happy.

*added-I am also religious so I pray to St. Gerard, patron saint of pregnancy. I ordered a medallion to wear during this pregnancy, which also helps me. :)

Re: having an emotional break down moment

I bought it at 5wks and used it at 8weeks and heard the heartbeat clear, it really did help me feel better and I love hearing the baby whenever I want to.
How far along is she? I thought she could use it in a couple of weeks?
