My delayed but "Feliz Navidad" at WoHop...
DH and I usually go to Wo-Hop in Chinatown for Christmas every year because Chinatown is the only place open for us to eat on Christmas. This year, we had a family obligation in the early afternoon and were invited for dinner at the home of a LOVELY LIFer. No worries, we woud go to Chinatown another time.
So last night, DH and I venture into the city for dinner at our favorite place, Wo-Hop, and enjoy the most incredible dinner. Behind us, I hear a table of people talking very happily. One man says to the other man, "Jose, what do you think of the food." Jose responded that it was the best he's ever had.
Then Jose got up and I noticed he was being led by a lady. Jose was saying how his favorite Christmas song was "Feliz Navidad". The lady who was guiding him says "Oh I hate that guy who sings that song. Whats his name? I forget his name." They were laughing.Then I look up again and realized that Jose was not only blind, but he was Jose Feliciano, the man who wrote and sang the original version of "Feliz Navidad." I was so excited.
It isn't every day that a lil Jewish girl gets to meet the writer of her favorite Christmas song. Christmas miracles DO happen!

Wow - that's cool!! I never knew that guy was blind until now.
On another note: I bet Thomas Chen's favorite place to eat food from his homeland is Wo-Hop. It is a shame he can't get there b/c his Lex keeps breaking down on him due to the fact that it has not been serviced properly!

Downstairs only. If we can't get in downstairs, we go somewhere else or we wait if its no longer than a half hour.

That reminds me:
Few years back my friend worked for him in CT.
So one day he went to Italy and he invited us over.
Boy we had a party there.....:LOL: :LOL:
