Q re: breech presentation

I know I shouldn't worry too much, but was anyone's baby breech early on, but turned around on its own before birth?

I'm 28w2d (I know, it's early) and my baby is in breech position. What do you think my odds are of him/her flipping? I really don't want a scheduled c-sec, so I'm hanging others' experience for hope.

i am more than positive the baby will turn around for you! when we went to the high risk doctor on dec 10th, she was breech (i was 22 and a half weeks) and when we went back on this past wed, she had turned around....and i was just about 25 weeks. you have plenty of time! good luck!!!

DS was breech (I forget what week we were told he was breech) but the talks of scheduling a c-section were not until the very end and the morning of the c-section I had another sono of make sure he was still breech

Re: Q re: breech presentation

I heard from my yoga instructor that doing the downward facing dog position can sometimes help a baby move out of breech. I think it gives it more room to move... Good luck.

Re: Q re: breech presentation

DS was breech at 34 weeks. By my 36 week sono he was head down.

Dont worry your baby has plenty of time to turn before birth.
At my 34 week appt my dr mentioned c-section but said it was too early to really discuss as an option due to his breech presentation. We would wait and see how he was at 36 and then again at 38 weeks

ETA: even if your DC didnt turn, I just had a section less than 10 days ago (baby was too big for me to deliver) and really it wasnt bad at all! Right now except some minor soreness, I dont feel like I had surgery at all!

Re: Q re: breech presentation

DD did not turn by 36 weeks so I had a version done at 37 weeks in labor & delivery and it didn't work (I would NOT recommend getting one done!!). So I had a c-section scheduled for 39 weeks (1 week early due to GD).

I wouldn't worry until 35 weeks, and even then, a c-section isn't so terrible. I'd even recommend going straight for the c-section & avoiding a version altogether.

Re: Q re: breech presentation

My baby was breech and then turned. I was having a scheduled C-section for other reasons, so it did not really matter that he was breech. I think he turned at about 34 weeks but I do not remember exactly. It was fairly late when he turned. I delivered at 36 weeks.

Re: Q re: breech presentation

I was breech that early as well but the baby has since turned (I'm ~33w). Now it's just huge, still probably causing a c, but not breech. The baby still has plenty of room in there to turn, try not to worry yet.

Re: Q re: breech presentation

I just found out my baby is in a breech position(I am 30 weeks). Dr's words were "breech, smeech". Baby can turn at any time.Chat Icon
