I had my baby!--updated w/pics.
I was suppose to be a January mommy....but I broke my water at 1:30am on Sat. 12-22-07. It was funny b/c I actually thought I just peed on myself since I was not due for another 4 weeks. I went back to sleep. At about 3:30am I started to have contractions and I called the midwife. We headed to Stony Brook at 5:30am and was seen in the triage. I was about 2cm dilated.
I was set up in the l/d room where contractions started getting stronger and longer. It came to a point where I couldn't take it anymore and I asked to get the epidural. Unfortunately the dr. was in the OR so they took a while to get there. When she finally arrived she had the resident try to put the catheder in my back. He jabbed my 3times in my back and finally gave me the epidural. But at this point I had the sensation to push and felt no effects of the epidural. So, needless to say I felt every thing . Even after delivery I never felt the effects of the epidural, which means he probably never inserted it correctly.
I finally gave birth at 12:17pm to my baby girl!!!
