My birth story
ok so we went to my parents for xmas eve and my water decides to break..i actally felt it...like a huge pop and ran tot the bathroom...i went ot he bathroom and when i stood up.....welahhh out it came...and came...and continues to come, i felt like i was peeing all over..hahha
so off we went tot he hpsital, they admitted and that was it, i felt nothing but minor minor period cramps through the night....i was only a fingertip so they put cervidal in and cheched me in the am.
In the am i was still a fingertip so they started the patocin...about 12 o clock i was in pain, i asked for the epiduaral and i waited for the dr to come and check my first...again i was maybee a cm but for some great reason he let me get the epi that early...let me just tell u...HEAVEN...i would have paid anything for it and actually getting ddint hurt a bit...no more than when you give blood for a test...
They told me i had to chage positions so it can disperse evenly, only problem was that when layed on my left babies HR droppped so i had to stay on my right and i started to feel pain on the left...at about 5 pm the dr agreed to give me a bolus of the epi which is basically a large dose restarting it so the pain would go away...well they did it and checked me right after and i was 1 cm...they couldnt believe it...i went from 2 cm to 1o in a few hours...and they said it was looking like c section....so basically i am completely numb now and ready to push......i was so nervous that i started vomiting....but it was GREAT for me, i felt nothing, they left the epi on and he was out 25 minutes later..i i really focuse don pushing as I did not want the epidural turned off......the nurses do most of the work and the dr comes in at the end and catched him LOL...i had a small tear, not too bad, doesnt hurt really...just wanted to let u all know it IS NOT BAD AT ALL....just get the drugs...hhaha....

Congrats! How exciting, a Christmas baby! And I totally agree, the epi is WONDERFUL! I don't understand why anybody would want to do it without it.
