Feeding schedule questions....
DD has been on rice cereal for 2 months. She has a Dr's appt on the 28th, but I was at the store yesterday and decided I was going to start her on some new foods...I am the Mother after all
I gave her stage 1 bananas yesterday and last night and she loved them. I also picked up some other fruits...I'm just wondering, can I do a different fruit every day (she seemed to handle the bananas fine yesterday), or should I stick with bananas for awhile?
She will be 6 months old in a few days.

Re: Feeding schedule questions....
When DS was on baby food, I would do a new fruit or veggie for a week then try another.

As you just said, you ARE THE MOTHER, you know your daughter, so I think that changing it up is okay. (lord knows I did with my kids lol)

Re: Feeding schedule questions....
The pediatricians usually recommend trying a new food for 3-4 days in a row to make sure there's no allergy/reaction issues. That way they can pinpoint which food caused it. I wouldn't mix it up day by day until I've tried each of the fruits/veggies individually.

Re: Feeding schedule questions....
We try make her a lot of her food but keep the gerber organics around
to rule out allergies, our ped asked that we stick with the same friut or veg for at least 3 days- if there was no reaction we moved on.
After all the singles we went to stage2 which mixes them togehter and have bigger portions

Re: Feeding schedule questions....
They told me every 2-3 days introduce a new one...I didn't listen and gave them a new fruit or vegetable every day and they loved it!

Re: Feeding schedule questions....
You should give her the same food for a few days to make sure she is not allergic.
Other than that - go crazy!

Re: Feeding schedule questions....
I started with veggies first and tried one for 3-4 days. After I went through the veggies, then I tried a fruit for the same amount of time.

Re: Feeding schedule questions....
Our ped told us to try each new thing for 3-4 days before moving on to a new one but that we could also combine a new food with one she has already had (i.e. mix the rice cereal with bananas)

Re: Feeding schedule questions....
Ped told me to try new food every 4-5 days. And start with veggies since some kids may refuse veggies after they start with sweets.

this is what our dr said and we followed it whenever trying a new food.

I heard that too (maybe on here) but my ped had me start with fruits first - and Jack has no problem with the veggies!

I did fruits first too and DS likes the veggies (the orange ones at least) better.

DS loves his fruits & veggies! I loved giving him the new flavours. We feed him the Earth's best, and they have some fantastic flavours once you get to the stage two.
