Food question

Is shrimp cocktail safe to eat during pregnancy? Also, why are some some of you ladies not eating mayo? What is the reason for mayo being potentially harmful to a pregnancy?

You can eat shrimp cocktail, the shrimp is cooked.

You are fine with mayo. Some mayos (like homemade ones) are made with raw eggs and that you can't eat. Anything you buy in the store or eat in a restaurant is pasteurized and safe. Enjoy!

Shrimp is totally safe! Just make sure that it's cooked

There is a post about the mayo.... I actually created the thread and some wonderful women responded.... It has more to do with the fact that some mayo's are made with raw egg.

I honestly have eaten it, and have to say 0 I will continue to eat it.... I just don't have the opportunity to eat it too much since my doc would prefer I stay away from the cold cuts for the most part

My doctor told me mayo is fine but to stay away from eating salads with mayo from deli's because you don't know how long it's been sitting there for.
