Sono Spinoff
Has anyone heard anything about the dangers (if any) of having too many sonograms.
Someone bugged me out about this saying all these random things about too many sonos.
I had my regular 8 week one, but also two others due to spotting and cramping.
I am going for my ultrascreen this week so now that makes 4!
Is that unheard of?

I've never heard that. I would hope if there were dangers doctors would be obligated to tell us. I've had 5 and one of them was the 3d one.

Re: Sono Spinoff
Truthfully, I have heard this from several people during my pregnancy. Does this mean u should worry? I doubt it!
As long as your sonos are done by doctors and are scheduled for a reason, you're fine. The "too many sonos can be dangerous" comment should be left for the Tom Cruise's in the world that feel the need to purchase their own machine and do them at home "just for fun!!!"

Re: Sono Spinoff
I had close to 20 sono's throughout my pregnancy (could be even higher), and both boys are fine. I don't think it's anything to worry about...that rumor has been around forever and I don't believe it has any merit.

I did hear of that and asked my doctor she said studies show that sonos do not cause any danger to the baby.

Thanks. I figure too that if there was some sort of danger, doctors would be less likely to provide sonos.

Re: Sono Spinoff
Myt first p/g I had more sono's than I can count, due to severe dehydration that was making my amniotic fluid dry up a little. DD was fine.

Re: Sono Spinoff
I've heard this as one of those old wive's tales. I know many people who were high risk who had weekly sono's and there was no risk posed to them or their babies.

Re: Sono Spinoff
I think that they recommend limiting the use of ultrasounds unless its for a medical reason. I found this when I searched.
