Cars (The movie, toys, etc)
Is anyone else's son/daughter (hey, I played with matchbox cars when I was little) obsessed with the movie Cars?
Jared has a few of the die cast metal cars and I went to the store to get some more for him today. The moms were going crazy digging for certain cars that their kids wanted. I couldn't believe the madness!!
I was one of them though. I had to get Jared the King from the movie.
I have to admit, it's fun digging through the bins with all the other moms...kinda like a race to see who can find the more sought after cars first.

No, my DS doesn't really like them....  This is from May of this year...
Since this photo, we've probably tripled the number of cars he has, he has a Cars hamper, two different sets of PJs, a couple of shirts, a slot car track, he had Cars sneakers, but outgrew them. He has wall stickers in his room with all of the characters. He has a Cars backpack. The soundtrack from the movie, the DVD, and the Leapster cartridge...... I think that's it....  
I picked up three new cars this morning that we didn't have. I've downloaded the complete list of all the cars. I haven't gone through the list yet, but we have to have at least 50, and they keep coming out with new ones.... Image Attachment(s):

OMG my nephew is OBSESSED!!! Everything I buy for himis CARS.... his whole room is CARS, sleeps in a CARS bed, bedding is CARS. rug is CARS its insane... but whatever, I get him what I can for bdays and xmas...this year he requested the CARS racetrack lil did I know when I got to TRU there was a million different kinds...i had to call him and he had to describe it to my by color and what it does.

John is OBSESSED with cars. He has every single one (duplicates as well), has all the playsets, racetracks, you name it he's got it.

The tractor is actually pretty easy to find. It's in a 3 pack (they never are sold by themselves), with Mater and Lightning. They usually have them at Target.
I just picked up a "Mrs. The King" today. We got the helicopter a few days ago.
I think we have all the Ramones. There's about 7 or 8 versions. At least 3 versions of Doc Hudson. Probably 5 or 6 Lightnings.
They released a whole slew of new ones, but I haven't seen them yet. Fred (rusty car who keeps losing his bumper), Rusty and Dusty (spokescars for Rusteze), the Governator, Jay Limo, and lots more......

According to one chart I've seen, there's at least 101 different cars/paint jobs.
For true collectors, you would need to collect the same car with the different cardboard backing. Some cars have 3 different backs for the same car. We're just getting the cars, we're not worrying about the backing.

Just a heads up, Sam's Club sells a pack of like 10 cars for $20 and I bet it's at Costco and BJ's too

Jacob is obsessed with Cars the movie, We watch it all the time... In fact I think it is a cute movie...
He got for his birthday a set of the Cars cast from the Disney store plus he has lots of the Shake n go cars also..
He loves Lightning Mcqueen....

My 3-1/2 year old is obsessed with cars. But not from the movie Cars. Just cars in general. He's got well over 200 Matchbox cars. He loves to line them up and play car dealership I wonder where he gets that from

OMG thank you so much for posting this list, I had no idea there were so many other cars I just went to Amazon and ordered Mr & Mrs, Rusty and Dusty, Fred, Dinoco chopper, Bob Cutlass, Darrell Cartrip, Kori Turbowitz, Yeti, Ghost light Ramone, and the blimp.
Hubby is going to  when he sees the amex bill come January

Yes. I get most of my supply from Target. They have a really good selection, and they restock pretty quick, too.

I know what you mean about the # of cars. We were getting pretty close to a full set...... then they came out with round #2. Made a bit of headway on round #2, then round #3 came out...
Now, I'm just picking them up as I find them. I'm not on a mission or anything, it's become sort of a hobby for me now.

and there is even a tractor that honks and tips over so your lighting can go tractor tipping.
Add DS to the obsessed list, I think he has all of the diecast cars except for a few of the new ones that came out. The big lightning, mater and tractor, cars bedroom set, backpack, 2 pairs of sneakers, underwear, t-shirts, a sweater with the logo on the sleeve and 95 on the back, cars toothpaste, toothbrush, the computer game, books, basically anything cars he must have.
Oh yeah and track #14 on my rascall flats CD (ligh is a highway) must be on repeat whenever we are in the car
Did I mention you could add him to the obsessed list?

Um....that's freakin' ADORABLE!!! How long does it take him to do that...and how long to put them all away?? I hope you have one of those huge cases to store them in!
Paul was obsessed with the movie Cars last year. He has all of the first edition cars of the main characters. He has a Cars backpack and scarf and glove set, he used to have sheets (when he was still in a toddler bed), and he has some of clothing w/Cars on it. But his interest in this is waning now.
