Does your Dr. measure your stomach??????

I saw my little sis the other night...she asked me if I was measuring on schedule. I said I have no idea. She said around 20 weeks they should have started measuring my stomach. I'm 25 weeks and have never had this done...is that normal. Should I be? She has a 4 year old and they did when she was pregnant...she's also graduating school soon for Labor and Delivery so I figure she's right. Do you guys have this done?

My doctor didn't measure my stomach until I was 30 weeks.

They know from your sonograms if you're on schedule so I don't see why they'd need to measure you at this point.

With DS they started at 16 weeks and at that point I already had started putting weight on. With DD I want to say she started at 24 weeks and I didn't put weight on until 20 weeks. I am not sure if the weight thing has anything to do with it but I figured I would throw it in.

come to think of it - my drs never measured my stomach throughout my pregnancy

Yes, they started doing this at 27 weeks, but the dr told me not to go by the measurement since some women are naturally "bigger" in the stomach area than others.

I just thought it was odd that I didn't because my sister went to the same office as I do. I'll have to ask next time I go.

My SIL said something about getting measured to me, but I'm 30 weeks & never been measured.

My dr started measuring me at 20 weeks when I was preggo the first time, so I'm sure he will start soon. Every Dr is different though.

I'm 18 weeks tomorrow and they haven't measured my stomach.

My next appointment is the 21st at the hospital for the Anatomy scan, maybe they will measure then.

ive been having my belly measured since about 16 wks i think maybe before that...every doc is dif...

My doc never measured mine and I'm 36 weeks.

I'll be 30 weeks this week and there hasn't been any measurment yet. My other OB measured from time to time but I only remember them doing it once or twice.

I never had a growth sono with DS either - I wonder if that is an insurance thing.

I guess it all depends on your doctor. I kinda want mine measured. I'm curious to see how i'm measuring up...lol.
