Does anyone do this or know of someone who does this?

A friend of mine buys and returns clothes that she wears.
Mostly its things she would wear just once, like a dress from bloomies or nordstrom.
She always gets it dry cleaned before she brings it back, and attaches the tags. So its always clean, and pressed.

She also buys and wears costume jewerly and returns it.
SHe has done this alot, and has notice in the stores that most of the dresses are returned. (because nordstrom and bloomies puts this sticker on all merchandise purchased) its like a reciept incase you loose yours.

She was just in Saks, and was going to buy a dress, but it was worn, and someone had actually sewn cups in it and she showed the sales girl and the salesgirl said "everyone does it"

Just wondering if anyone has done this, and what you think of this.

YES, my BF I love her but she is a retail persons nightmare. She buys, wears, and returns. Makes me nuts.


ETA: After working in retail for way to many years I have seen it all. NOTHING shocks me anymore.

NEVER. That is disgusting. I don't consider Bloomies or Nordstroms as a used clothing store. The prices certainly don't reflect this.

I would never, I just couldn't in my right mind wear something and return it (unless it was defective). But I can't tell you how many times I've bought something that ended up being returned It bugs me like nothing else! I had a friend who used to work in retail, and when she left the job, she took with her a re-tagger, so she could cut the tags off to wear and then put it back on again to return

No I have never done that. To me that is equal to stealing. If you want a dress buy it if you can't afford to keep it shop elsewhere. I used to work in retail and took great pleasure in telling people we could not return their worn items!

I did it once...I HAD to get a dress to something I didnt want to go to in the first place. I couldnt find anything and settled on something "because it fit." So I wore it and returned it

i did it once and only to a sweater that i had pulled the tags off cause i thought i loved it and when i wore it that day it was just tooooooo itchy! so i dug the tags out and returned it. i only wore the sweater for like an hour and couldnt take the itchiness so i went home and changed.

that kinda grosses me out that someone wore a dress, sewed cups into it (which means they wore out for an evening) and then returned it.

I haven't, but it's stories like this that make me wash everything before I wear it.

Never -- that's almost like stealing to me. Why should the next person that comes along pay full price to purchase used clothing?

NO. I've never done it and don't know anyone who has either. I am not ok with that at all. I kinda see it as stealing. I would never be able to do something like that.

I WOULD NEVER!! I personally think its horrible that people do this. Its stealing in my book.

I've never don eit, but I assuem it must be common in Macy's, bc/ now they have GIANT tags that you couldn't easily tuck into evneing wear on their dresses, indiacting that you cannot return it without that.

If I ever had the nerve to do that, I'm sure I'd spill red wine al lover myself & not be able to get it out!

I don't approve of the practic, but at least your friend gets its cleaned, before returning it.

my brothers ex-GF is the most horrid person that ever lived--and she did this ALL THE TIME!

she would return LINGERIE!!

i think its ghetto as hell....once she returned a BREAST PUMP that she had used for 4 months!!!!!!!!!

I think that is pretty disgusting. I'm glad I wash most things before I wear them!
