DS had his EI evaluation today...
I don't know yet if he qualifies...
They need to plead their case and hopefully get him pushed through... His numbers didn't let him qualify but since he is a drooling machine (at 16 months) they will plead a oral motor issue which might make him get the help he needs...
  Wish us luck!!!

  Good luck!!
My son was a drooling machine also, and has been forever! Finally we realized his tonsils were so enlarged, he had a hard time swallowing the excess saliva and his adenoid was so big that he always had his mouth open to breathe. He hasn't drooled since the surgery! Just something to think about if it persists even after getting therapy

Good luck and don't give up if they say no. You have to push and be your DS's voice.

  Get a prescription for what???

For Speech Therapy. Some Insurance companies will pay for it with a dr's prescription.

Re: DS had his EI evaluation today...
Let me know how it goes. I had DS evaluated for similar reasons at 11 mos, but he did not qualify. Now at 17 months he drools just as much if not more than he did at 11 months (without teething) and still gags, spits up, and chokes on everything. I just know he has an oral motor delay but don't know if it's enough to qualify because his speech is fine.

My son didnt qualify for ei for pt but then got a script for it from peds --- it is worth a shot....if dc doesnt qualify ask ped what can be done for you...I really think it is just a matter of asking.
  Good luck!

The oral motor delay was the reason they were going to try to get him pushed through, Still don't have an answer yet. DS is a crazy drooling man, we use about 7-10 bibs a day.
  I'm sending you FM!

Re: DS had his EI evaluation today...
I'm sorry! But think of the positive side..they dont think he needs it. Like I said call the peds and see what they can do for you.
