Food question

We're having a New Years Eve party at my house this year. We normally get a deli hero and side dishes, etc., because it's just family (about 18 people) and casual. This year since I'm pregnant I worry about eating cold cuts, regardless of the fact some girls do and have no problems. I would worry too much, so it's not worth it for me. So I decided to make sausage and peppers also, so that I'd have something to eat. I just realized that is on the no list also. My question is what would you make (one dish) that you would be able to eat, but also good enough for a party? We are still getting the hero and sides for everyone else.

Re: Food question

I understand about the cold cuts.
But what is wrong with sausages?

What about making:
ziti or lasagna
chicken parm
Eggplant rolitini
chili

Re: Food question

The previous food suggestions sound good, but I'm with one of the PP's.... What's wrong with the sausage?

I was going to suggest this as well. Most places that do Italian heros do this or a breaded chicken cutlet hero as well.

I know a few places do grilled veggie heros also. Maybe you can get a mini one.

Re: Food question

I was thinking the veggie hero too. I'm sure others will like it too.

Re: Food question

for my shower my mom did a wrap platter from a place in syosset (on jericho tpke i think)

they did:

tuna wraps
steak wraps
veggie wraps
and cold cut wraps

i just wish i had gotten to the steak wraps before everyone else had eaten them........ Chat Icon
